Narrator: So, we are role playing a scene which belongs to an office where a team is not performing well,
which is headed by Harish, Team leader of the company which is played by Parag Garg and his colleagues are
Ajay, backend developer in the company played by Aditya Agarwal; Umesh, Front end developer in the
company played by Udit Chauhan; Lawerence Product manager in the team played by Anurag Godara and
Krish a product tester played by Kashish Dagar. The projects completed by team are regularly not up to the
client’s expectations and are completed just at the last minute. Harish receives a complaint regarding the
same from his superior. To address the issues Harish sets up a meeting with the team and now let’s just see
how Harish handles the situation.
Harish: Guys, we have a meeting today at 2:50 pm. I need to discuss regarding the recent projects and also
share the client’s feedback. I hope everyone be on time.
*Harish Goes*
*Office Chatters*
Lawerence: Yes, I agree. I think he will now assign other useless tasks to us like the last time.
Krish: Ya, even in the last project I had to do various useless tasks.
Umesh: You are right, also he says the time is 2:50 but I am sure no one will arrive on time, everyone will
arrive at around 3:00. So, what will we do after arriving early? So, I think we should also go around 3.
Ajay: Yeah, you are correct.
Narrator: At the time of the meeting, no one except Harish arrived on time. Harish reminded everyone and
then everybody reaches at around 3:00 pm
Harish: Guys, I am really fed up, despite giving you an early notice today no one was present on time.
*Silence*
Harish: Let’s arrive to the reason this meeting has been scheduled. The company is not happy with our
performance. None of our recent projects met the client’s expectations, The feedback is very poor and there
were bugs in our applications which haven’t been fixed till date.
Ajay: Sir, but the last project was lengthy, and time was less.
Harish: Don’t give me excuses, we are only team members here, we know that none of you had made their
submissions on time hence leading to delays and no adequate time was left for fixing bugs. And more
importantly we are not discussing a single project here, all the projects done within the last 3 months have
similar results.
Lawerence: Sir, but you are giving us unimportant tasks, tasks which are of no use and make us do each
other’s work which is totally unfair.
Krish: Yes Sir, just in the last project, I had to make Figma of the web page design which was totally not useful.
My role in the team is product testing.
Ajay: Exactly, you also made me do front end design with Umesh, but my role is for the back end.
Narrator: Harish has now understood the actual problem and to solve this he needs to discuss the importance
of teamwork.
Harish: Now I understand the real problem, I will address each of your problems separately. Let’s start with
you Krish. Yes, I asked you to make Figma for the web design which was not useless. The reason I made you
do Figma was that the client was really confused with the design he wanted, as confirmed to me by
Lawerence. So, with the help of Figma we cleared client’s confusion of the design, and it also gave a better
understanding of the design to front end team.
Umesh: Yes sir, I agree. Just because of Figma, the concept was crystal clear to me, and it also really helped
me a lot. Thank you, Krish making the Figma.
Lawerence: Yes exactly, the Figma really made a good impression on the client, he was very happy to see the
Figma, but it would be better if the Figma was submitted to me a few hours ago rather than just on time.
Krish: Really. I thought Figma was totally useless but if you find that useful, I will make more effort in that
next time. Sure, and regarding the submission I will try to submit it to you before time.
Harish: Now Ajay, yes, I asked you to help Umesh with the front end, but I hope you understand that without
completion of the front end on time you wouldn’t be able to do your part and as we have less member for
Front end, and I guess you understand that just because of this you guys received enough time for your task.
Ajay: Yes sir, I need to agree on that, just because the front-end part was on time and such good UI, we were
able to complete our task with ease and also I had good clarity on the project otherwise it just takes me 1
complete day to just understand the UI.
Harish: Now Lawerence, I don’t want you to do useless tasks or increase your workload. Everything I ask you
to do is well planned and has a particular reason. Sometimes you just don’t know the reason for the same.
Also, when I ask you to help anyone else like asking you to help Krish in bug testing or asking back-end team
to help front end team is because the workload on the other person in much more than regular and other
team members are with minimalistic workload at that moment. It will also help you learn new things,
increase your bonding and teamwork with the team members.
Umesh: Yes sir, we have understood the reasons why you made us do other tasks not only the assigned ones.
Lawerence: Yes sir, we will keep that in mind from the next time and will also try to complete the assigned
tasks asap instead of leaving it to the deadline.
Harish: Now, let’s discuss about the next project. I have mailed you the client’s requirements today morning.
I hope everyone have checked it. Now Let’s focus on this and I hope the improvements will be visible in that
project.
Umesh: Sure sir, I have checked the details I will try my level best to submit the details on time.
Ajay: I promise to maximize my efforts in my assigned role as well as any other role that contributes to our
group’s success. Let’s improve our work so that it continuously exceeds the expectations of our client.
*Everyone leaves*
Krish: Hey Umesh, I will help you with the Figma and I hope it will help you in your part.
Ajay: Yeah Umesh, just let me know when you will be doing front end. I will try to help you with that.
Umesh: Sure.
Narrator: After this, the next project was completed much early before the deadline, and the improvements
were clearly visible in the project. The client was very happy with the project and other teams were shocked
to see such an exceptional performance by Harish’s team.
