OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE FOR ISOLATION 52G BREAKER
FOR GSUT TRANSFORMERS:
Firstly, load must be transferred from incomer which is feeding from the very unit the 52G
breaker needs to be isolated.
N/B
-Control room operator will open the incomer on that unit (e.g. GT2-52G Breaker. Incomer -2
will be opened) and close tie feeder of 6.6KV of that unit to supply the PEECC and other
auxiliaries.
-APPLY FOR S.G (Station guaranty) TO SWITCHYARD 330KV T.S TO DE-ENERGIZE THE
EQUIPMENT.
-Control room operator will inform switchyard (330KV T .S) to de-energize/ isolate 52L, isolate
disconnection switchyard close earthing switch at switchyard. Operator place padlock (Key and
tagged isolated equipment)
- Control room sees zero potential of HMI of that unit and will give the operator a go- ahead for
operation.
OPERATOR: Incomer breaker of that unit is racked out and tagged, then apply earth (close
earthing switch (E.SH8Q)) on the incomer.
-52G BREAKER PLACE ON LOCAL (switched from remote to local)
-OPEN disconnecting switch (SKG), Ensure that Disc on opened position and place tag
-CLOSE Earthing switch (MKGT)-DISC on closed position and tagged
N/B If the unit is not on turning gear (CLOSE MKGG) Generator earthing switch.
If the unit is on turning gear, MKGG still remains opened
