W
or SAT in any way. However, we believe you should not pay for external books that have
additional practice tests. Instead, use the material we recommend as mentioned below.
his is Rishab Jain & Okezue Bell. We’re here to tell you: DON’T BE SCARED of the digital
T
SAT. Still prep for it in the exact same way we told you.
We’re here to spill the beans on how to ace the digital SAT!
rust us, prepping for this test is still roughly the same as easy as pie, whether you're used to
T
the good ol' paper and pencil version or not. And guess what? I've got some amazing news to
share with you all!
Introducing Bluebook, the digital testing application that's about to become your new best friend
(not really :(). This nifty tool comes with a super cool test preview feature that will help you get
up close and personal with the app's functions. You'll get a sneak peek into the test's structure
and even have a go at some sample Reading and Writing and Math questions.
ou can also try out all the awesome testing tools you're allowed to use, including assistive
Y
technology. Go check it out atDownload Link. It’sessential you familiarize yourself with it. It also
gives you 4 practice tests which is great.
ou’ll want to make sure to take adigital SATpracticetest if you’re doing the online test when
Y
you actually take it. We’d highly recommend using the test given in Bluebook above.
LSO, you can take Khan Academy’s free tests here to further familiarize yourself with taking an
A
online exam - as opposed to the 50+ PDFs we have above:Link
he new test is shorter:due to less setup time &random stuff where you have to fill in the
T
bubble sheet, the test length is now just 2 hours.
THIS IS WILD. Because it’s not just ANY graphing calculator… it’s DESMOS.
In your practice, it is now ESSENTIAL to practice with Desmos.com/calculator -- there are so
many functions and tools in Desmos that most people don’t even know about.
he new test is adaptive:It is crucial that you dowell on the first section. This is because your
T
performance on the first section will dictate how hard the questions you get on the second are,
HOWEVER, these questions will be worth more points. Thus, you need to be locked in right off
the bat, for all of the sections.
hen a student starts the test and connects to the internet, the app downloads three sets of
W
questions per section to the device. The exam consists of two stages for each section:
- Reading & Writing with 27 questions in 32 minutes
- Math with 22 questions in 35 minutes.
All students follow a fixed order of sections: Reading & Writing Stage 1, Reading & Writing
Stage 2, Break, Math Stage 1, Math Stage 2.
It adapts only once for Reading & Writing and once for Math, reducing the pressure on
individual questions. The first stage of each sectionis not adaptive, and its questions cover a
full range of difficulty levels. After the first stage, the test selects one of the two remaining
modules based on the appropriate difficulty level, ensuring an accurate score on a shorter test.
Students will receive scores faster but won't have access to their test questions after the exam.
eading passages are now 25-150 words with one question per text instead of 11 questions
R
alongside a long passage: 600-700 words.
Let’s say you want to mark this question down for review, later. No worries!
he timer is distracting.
T
We’d recommend you use a physical watch just like how everyone used to in the in-person
SATs. The online one has a timer, but it is constantly moving. We’d highly, highly recommend
you use the hide button on this so you don’t get distracted.
