Non-alcoholic cocktails

In this cocktail section we will talk to you about the preparation of some non-
alcoholic cocktails , so that your knowledge as a mixologist increases.
It is necessary that a professional bartender and a mixologist also know how to
prepare non-alcoholic drinks because many people do not drink or are
designated drivers and although they do not drink alcohol, they do look for and
want to have a cocktail.

Non-alcoholic cocktails
For that reason we want to present you a series of cocktails that you can
prepare with the basic ingredients of traditional cocktails but without including
a drop of alcohol.

Likewise, if you like to prepare different drinks for your guests at your parties, it
is essential that in this hot season you also offer drinks to refresh them. Here
are some cocktails:

Shirley Temple
Her name says it all, she is the same as the little actress who played Anita the
orphan. This cocktail was originally served for children who accompanied adults
in a family bar; currently there are different varieties that include alcohol.

Ingredients:

 Ginger ale / lemon soda

 Orange juice
 Grenadine
Preparation:
Place the ginger ale, grenadine and ice in a mixer and shake briefly. You
should only add a little grenadine, since it should only give a pink color to the
ginger ale, which is the main ingredient. You can also add lemon or orange peel
when mixing.
The Shirley Temper is served in a tall glass, (check our Cocktail Glassware
article) it can be frosted with sugar and garnished with a cherry or a paper
umbrella.

Blueberry Lemonade
This lemonade includes common ingredients that are included in the wide
variety of cocktails that bartenders can prepare. It is a refreshing drink that
combines the flavor of lemon with that of blueberries, ginger and mint.
Ingredients

 2 tablespoons fresh blackberries

 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
 2 fresh mint leaves
 Ice
 ½ cup ginger ale or lemon soda
 Lemon slices, blackberries and mint to garnish
Preparation

In a tall glass, mix the lemon juice with the blackberries and mint. Then fill the
glass with ice and add the ginger ale to the top. Garnish if you wish.

Non-alcoholic mimosas
This non-alcoholic cocktail will give you the opportunity to try one of the most
popular cocktails, of course without having to taste alcohol. Here is the recipe
for 8 people:
Ingredients

 3 spoonfuls of sugar
 2 cups cold, fresh orange juice
 1 cup cranberry juice
 2 bottles (750 ml. each) of non-alcoholic champagne or catawba grape
juice, chilled.
 8 orange slices
Preparation:

Blend the orange juice with the sugar until a homogeneous mixture remains.
Place 2 tablespoons of cranberry juice in each champagne glass, pour ¼ cup of
orange juice and then add the champagne or grape juice until the glass is full.
Finally, place a slice of orange to decorate.
Strawberry lemonade
This is a fresh, delicious and easy-to-prepare version of traditional lemonade.

Ingredients

 2 cups of cleaned strawberries

 500 ml. fresh lemonade without sugar
Procedure

In a blender, puree the strawberries until they become puree. Pour some
lemonade and ice into a tall glass, then add some of the strawberry puree. Cool
before serving and if you want, you can add sugar.

These are one of the few cocktails that can be prepared without alcohol but that
retain the delicious and fresh flavor of a cocktail .
Remember that it is important to prepare all cocktails, both alcoholic and non-
alcoholic, with fresh ingredients, so that the flavor of your drinks is exquisite.
