WS 99 INSTALLATION MANUAL Room Preparation

4 ROOM PREPARATION
Plan a layout and prepare the x-ray room before starting the installation. Refer to
the attached dimensional drawings of the wall stand. (DD-33-13)
If the wall stand is not installed with components that are made by Control-X
Medical, Inc., please refer to the original manufacturer’s specification.

ATTENTION! The site must comply with federal regulations and local codes, as
well as the dimensional and power requirement set forth here and for
other equipment.

Inspect the room before installation. If the condition of the wall and the floor is not
suitable for leveling and holding the stand, corrective action shall be taken (putting
a brace between the studs shall be considered).
The final location of the stand shall be predetermined before starting the
installation. With overhead support the center wall stand can be offset from the
centerline of the table. For complete system installation and site planning refer to
the appropriate room layout drawing.

4.1 Electrical Preparation

Depending on the system configuration the WS 99 stand can be furbished with two
different wall enclosures: the basic and the advanced disconnect box.
The basic box [DD-33-23] is relatively small and does not have any electrical
function. It only provides a convenient connection to either an inside conduit or a
raceway. The box is connected to the wall stand through a corrugated flexible tube.
For the proper position of the box refer to the WS 99 Dimensional Drawing [DD-33-
13]
There are two openings on the box. One rectangular hole is located on the rear of
the box (1 3/16” x 1 5/8”) to junction to an inside wall conduit (Figure1). The other
opening is on the bottom box (1 1/8” x ½ ”) for a raceway (Figure 3).
The minimum recommended size is 1 5/16” x 7/16“ raceway or ¾ of an inch
diameter conduit.
The advanced wall box [DD-33-25] is a functional junction box. It provides a
connection for the input power (24 VAC), the Bucky and the collimator size sensing
cable. It is uses exclusively when a size-sensing collimation system is utilized. This
box is connected to the stand through a corrugated flexible hose, which
aesthetically hides the interconnecting cables and wires. This box should be
positioned same as the basic one. (Refer to the WS 99 Dimensional Drawing DD-
33-13)
There is no opening on the box, except one cord grip fitting for the collimator cable,
which is not used. The Bucky system and the AEC (optional) cables are factory
installed. The collimator cable shall be installed at the site according to the
collimator manufacturer’s instruction.
