A Mind Map of 2024 General Elections

Pick a Chart Paper (70×56 cm) and create a mind map of the 2024 Indian General
Elections. The Chart Paper must include four sections:

A. Vision and Mission of NDA Alliance


B. Vision and Mission of INDIA Alliance
C. Key Factors Impacting the 2024 Elections in India
D. Role of Election Commission of India

Instructions:

1. The subject enrichment task will be performed as a group activity. The subject teacher
can help in dividing each section in groups of 5-6 students. The goal of a group activity is
that students engage and learn from one another.
2. The submission deadline is 22.5.2024. The group participants must learn from each
other in the spirit of teamwork.
3. The students may stick and draw pictures, write the points in small paragraphs, use news
paper reports etc to make their Mind Map vibrant and interesting.
Some Key Facts Related to the General Elections in India which may be included in the
mind map by students:

1. This is our 18th Lok Sabha Election / General Election. The first Lok Sabha Election
took place between October 1951 and February 1952.
2. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the dates for the upcoming Lok
Sabha elections. Lok Sabha polls 2024 will be held in seven phases between April 19 and
June 1. The results will be declared on June 4, according to the poll schedule released by
the Election Commission of India on March 16.
3. About 96.8 crore voters, comprising 49.7 crore men and 47.1 crore women, are eligible to
cast their vote across 543 constituencies at over 10.5 lakh polling stations in the country
to elect the 18th Lok Sabha. The voters include 1.89 crore first time voters, including 85
lakh women.
4. The main competition is between National Democratic Alliance (N.D.A) led by the
Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A)
led by the Indian National Congress. Regional parties are also playing an important role
in this election. Some of the key regional players are Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, Jagan
Reddy, Arvind Kejriwal, Tejaswi Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh
Yadav, Naveen Patnaik, to name a few.
5. The key factors impacting the 2024 Elections are: Ram Temple Issue, CAA, UCC, Global
Diplomacy, GDP Growth, Unemployment, Corruption, Electoral Bonds Issue, Price
Rise-Inflation, Women's Safety, Agniveer Scheme, Farmers’ Protests and Caste Census
to name a few.
