Simple future “Will”

I will lose weight. I will do my homework.

I will go to the gym.


I will take a shower every
day.
I will drink more water.
I will have a girlfriend.

I will eat vegetables. I will be on time at school.

El tiempo futuro expresa la idea de una acción que sucederá en un momento


en el futuro. Se usa la palabra “Will” para pedir o dar información acerca
del futuro. El auxiliar “will” es usado para mostrar buena voluntad o
promesa de hacer una acción en el futuro. También se usa para hacer
predicciones de algo que se piensa, calcula o se cree va a suceder.

Buena voluntad Predicción


Para hacer oraciones afirmativas, debes usar el auxiliar “Will” con todas las personas. Recuerda “Will” no
tiene traducción al español, como en este caso, que es usado como auxiliar. Sólo sirve para dar la idea que la
acción de la oración se lleva a cabo en el tiempo futuro.

Es importante tomar en cuenta que después de “Will” se


I debe escribir el verbo en forma simple.

“The fortune teller”


Fortune teller: Good morning, I will tell you your future.
Costumer: Really, well, let me see… Will I get married?
Fortune teller: Yes, you will… five times.
Costumer: How many children will I have?
Fortune teller: You will have two children… every time you get married.
Costumer: Will I be a doctor?
Fortune teller: No, you won’t. You will be a nurse.
Costumer: Will I drive a big car?
Fortune teller: Yes, you will. You will drive the ambulance of the hospital.
Costumer: Will I be rich?
Fortune teller: No, you won’t.
Costumer: Will I be handsome/pretty?
Fortune teller: I’m sorry but no you won’t.
Costumer: Will I live in another place different from Retalhuleu/Mazatenango/Quetzaltenango?
Fortune teller: Yes, you will. You will live in Alaska.
Costumer: Alaska!!!!
Fortune teller: Yes, Alaska in Totonicapán.
