REACTION PAPER “TREE” BY: JOYCE KILMER
Trees
BY JOYCE KILMER
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
The poem, “Trees", by Joyce Kilmer, personifies a tree as the speaker reveres it for being a
beautiful presence on the earth. I believe that the overall meaning of this poem is a message
showing that humans need to respect the natural works of art found on the earth such
as trees and other forms of natural life.
SONG LYRICS:
God comes to us in quiet and simple ways.
You are the music. You are the song.
You are the words of truth and love.
You are the voice that speaks to our heart.
You are the music, the song of our heart.
Take a moment.
Put the worries behind.
Take in the beauty around.
Let it relax your mind.
We can discover wonderful thing and places on earth
But the joy above is heavenly, live the best in life
Joy is in Above
Take a moment.
Put the worries behind.
Take in the beauty around.
Let it relax your mind.
As I walk across the earth,
thousands of things I get to see.
Birds fly high, soaring higher,
and on the flowers I hear the buzz of bees.
