1 Technical Parameters

2 Test Environment Setup

2.1 Required equipment and tools

Software requirements: CDM-6240N Tool


Hardware requirements: CDM-6240N, one PC, DC 24V power supply, RS232 communication
cable, power line and test notes.

2.2 Cable connection


A. Power off the power switch of CDM-6240N and connect the power cable;
B. Connect the communication cable;
C. Switch on the computer and test the program;
D. Turn on the power switch of CDM-6240N and start the test.

3 Cash Loading and Note Taking
3.1 Prepare the notes
Fitness level and quality of notes and compliance level of cash loading could directly affect the
operating condition of CDM-6240N, therefore, it is recommended to use notes with fitness level up
to 70% or 80% as acceptable notes.
Please strictly comply with the following steps to check and load notes so as to facilitate stable and
good operation of CDM-6240N.
Brand new notes (unused)
A. Take off the band from the new notes;
B. Disperse the notes by:
 Flapping the entire stack of notes against a table
edge or other similar object;
 Flipping the entire stack of notes in two directions;
 Separating the notes using a cash counter; Turn and break up brand new bundle
notes
Old notes (used)
A. Take off the band from the notes;
B. Remove scraps, stiff paper and other foreign matters from the notes;
C. Remove dog-eared, turned-edge, damaged and other unacceptable notes;
D. Flat the folded notes.
3.2 Take out the cassette

A: Insert a matched green key, rotate the B: Press the green button, pull out the handle of

3.3 Cash loading operation

A: Insert a matched black key, rotate the black key by 90° anticlockwise and open the upper cover
of the cassette.

B: Push plastic plate in blue arrow direction. Meanwhile, open the transport plate in the red arrow
direction.

C: Press down the note pressure plate to the bottom until the buckle lock up the note pressure plate.

MAX line

D: Put the banknotes neatly stacked into several small stacks and put them on the notes pressure
plate in the cassette. The height of notes replenishment is no more than MAX line.

E: Put down the transport plate until it is buckled in tight.

F: Slightly press the pressure point of the pressure plate by right hand①, press the buckle down
by left hand②, and slowly lift up the note pressure plate until the notes are tightly pressed③, and
remove the left hand④.

G: Close the upper cover of the cassette, rotate the black key by 90° clockwise and unplug the key
to complete loading of notes in the cassette.

3.4 Cash loading specification

Wrong example: Damaged or mutilated old , dog-ear, fold and curled head notes will increase jam
risk. It should take damaged or mutilated old , dog-ear, fold and curled head notes out and make
them neat.

Correct example: Before loading notes, it should stack notes in neat. After putting into cassette, it
should keep neat and align the head of stacked note to front baffle.

MAX line

Correct example: Put the banknotes neatly stacked into several small stacks. Hope a small stacked
notes and clench both sides of notes with your hand and make the whole pile of notes bend inward
slightly to increase the rigidity of banknotes, which helps to keep the notes from being neat.

3.5 Clear the reject bin

A: Horizontally pull out the reject bin. B: Insert the matched black key and open the
lock of the reject bin anticlockwise.

3.6 Insert the cassette

Buckle

A: Put the cassette into the appropriate slot with a little force along the horizontal direction. When
hear “Ka ka” sound, mean the buckle on the cassette have locked the frame of CDM-6240N and
cassette is in position. Now, push out cassette by handle and it can not be pushed out.

B: Insert matching green key in 90 degree, pull out key to finish replenish notes.

3.7 Insert the reject bin

Buckle

Put the Reject Bin into the appropriate slot with a little force along the horizontal direction. When
hear “Ka ka” sound, mean the buckle on the Reject Bin have locked the frame of CDM-6240N and
Reject Bin is in position.

4 Test

4.1 Starting of test tool

Confirm that CDM-6240N has been normally powered on before starting the program, and the
communication cable is correctly connected, then carry out the next normal test.
Run CDM6240TOOL test tool under the directory of given file, then a login window appears, and
input correct user name and password to enter the test page. User name: grgbanking; password:
basic3.

4.2 Communication setting
Select the serial port number of CDM-6240N connected with PC, and click [Connect].
4.3 General command
Initial: initialize CDM-6240N to check to see whether its basic functions are normal, and recover
CDM-6240N to initial state.
State: get the states of all sensors of CDM-6240N and display the states of all sensors in the figure
on the left.
Version: get the version number of the main control program of CDM-6240N.
Purge: retract notes in the transport or send them out of the port of CDM-6240N.
4.4 Cassette parameters
Set the length and thickness parameters of notes to be placed in the cassettes according to the actual
number of notes placed in the cassettes. For example, place 5 yuan in the cassette at the first slot
position, and set the length and thickness of the first slot position as 135 and 120 respectively; and
place 10 yuan in the cassette at the second slot position, and set the length and thickness of the
second slot position as 140 and 120 respectively.
After successful setting, the information is stored in CDM-6240N and will be not lost in the case of
power failure, and click “read” button , it can be directly read and viewed after repower-on.

4.5 Note dispensing
Dispense changes from CDM-6240N according to the setting number, and the maximum number of
notes dispensed in each transaction is 20. Return the number of dispensed notes, number of reject
notes and number of overlapped notes after dispensing notes.

4.6 Electronic ID
Since the reject bin and cassette of CDM-6240N are equipped with RFID electronic labels, they can
control reading and writing and record related information.

Select read/write item from drop-down options, Reject bin, Cassette 1, Cassette 2 and so on.
Write RFID: Input the number in the blank, click “Write FRID” button finish write ID. Support
English, number and common symbol, the max length is 13 bits.
Read RFID: Click “Read RFID”, textbox display current number of the cassette.

4.7 Upload and download
Upgrade and read the bottom-layer log on this page.
Download program: click “Open” and select the main control program to be upgraded, click
“download” button.
Upload log: select date and upload the logs of CDM-6240N recorded within the specified date. Or
tick “All Log” to upload all the log.

5 Handling of note jamming

5.1 Notes are jammed in the cassette

Note: As shown in the figure, notes are jammed in the cassette: the notes stay in the cassette , it
should take out the cassette to clear.
Open the upper cover of the cassette, press the note pressure plate to the bottom and locked up by
buckle , turn up the transport plate, and take the notes out in the reverse direction of dispensing.
After taking out the notes, it forbid to put notes back to cassette avoiding jam again. Meanwhile,
check if the remaining note in mess.If so , it must arrange in neat.

5.2 Notes are jammed in the transport

When banknote jam in tunnel, it should dismantle upper cover and front cover first.
The upper cove is fixed by four(4) M3 screws, two screws on both side as the red circle pointing.

After dismantling the fixed screws, it can take out the cover.

According to note jam position, rotate the green hand wheel. It is note transporting direction
rotating green hand wheel in clockwise as the picture. Keep rotating the green hand wheel until
transferring note to the position which can be taken out by hand. If rotating the green hand whee
can not take out the jammed note, it can take out by tweeter.
When taking out the note from the side of the belt, please notice that take out slowly and fix the belt
by the other hand, avoiding falling out the belt .
After taking out the note, it need to check if the belt have fallen out and fragment of the note left in
the tunnel. The falling out belt should hand up the belt well again, and clean all the fragment.
After taking out then note, please install the cover back.
Note: Before cleaning, it should confirm the machine that it would not start up accidentally or it
might cause injure.
