INSTALLING WINDOWS SERVER 2008


(Domain Controller)

STEPS: (Part I)

1. BIOS settings:
a. Insert/plug-in your bootable flash drive (USB disk) installer of Windows Server 2008,
then turn-on your PC.
b. Enter BIOS setup by pressing Delete key.
(NOTE: It depends on the manufacturer/brand of your computer on how to enter the
BIOS setup)
c. Find and replace the “Boot device priority settings” or “the First boot device option”
with your USB flash drive.
d. Press F10  to save and exit the BIOS setup, then your computer will restart and,
Start booting from USB device….

2. Read and follow instructions on windows wizzard to install the Windows Server 2008.

3. Click “Install now”.

4. Click “Next”.

5. Select “Windows Server Standard (Full Installation)”, and then click “Next”.

6. Check-marked “I accept the license terms”, and then click “Next”.

7. Select “Custom (advanced)”

8. Delete all existing disk partition by selecting “Disk Partition” and by clicking on “Delete”
option.

9. Click “OK”.

10. Create a primary disk partition 1 (for Windows Server 2008) by clicking on “New” option.

11. Delete the total (MB) size of your hard disk drive and type the desired amount size of your
primary disk partition 1, then click “Apply”. (NOTE: At least 50% of the total MB size of your
Hard disk)

12. Select “Unallocated Space” to create primary disk partition 2 (for your backup disk drive) and
then click “Apply”.

13. Select “Disk Partition 2” (backup disk drive) and then click “Format” option.
(NOTE: You have to format the second primary disk partition to make it visible and ready to use
as your data disk or backup).

14. Click “Ok” to format.

15. Select primary “Disk Partition 1” and then click “Next” to install Windows Server 2008.

16. Windows copying files, installing features and drivers and then wait to complete the
installation process.
