Upon arrival meet and Greet by our representative later drive to Munnar (03:30 Hrs / 135 Kms), enroute
visit Cheyyappara & Valara waterfalls. Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in India, Munnar is
situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Located
at 1600 Mts. above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in
South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities
make Munnar a unique experience. Munnar is essentially a tea town.
On arrival at Munnar and check in at Resort. Rest of the day free for explore the Resort activities.
After early breakfast get ready for moderate trekking at Letchmi Hill
Letchmi Hill is Located about 3km from Munnar offers panoramic view of Western Ghats ranges.
Munnar is known as “Trekker’s Haven. Its rocky Terrain and plantations providing the best experience
for all those who enjoy pure nature, unadulterated! We start the trek through the tea plantations, after
reaching the top of the hill, the rest of our couple of hours trek will be on the ridge which offers
beautiful views around, it will be through grasslands, one side will be rocky mountain slope and the
other side will be tea plantations, patches of Shola forest etc. In a clear sky day we could see Anamudi
(2695 mts above MSL), the highest peak in the Western Ghats and South India is Located about 3km
from Munnar offers panoramic view of Western Ghats ranges. Munnar is known as “Trekker’s Haven. Its

Afternoon visit Lockhart and its Tea Factory and Tea Museum
Lockhart (or Lock Heart) Gap is a gap between two mountains near Munnar, which looks similar to the
shape of a heart. You can observe this gap and the surrounding landscape from the Lockhart Gap View
Point.
This viewpoint is on Lockhart Gap Road, about 12 km from Munnar. It offers an expansive view of the
tea-covered slopes, mist-clad blue hills and the winding roads in the valley. Views of the valley hidden by
the fog, scenic stretch of road and a gorgeous sunset are only a few things which attract people to
Lockhart Gap Road View Point.
It is a popular picnic spot, heaven for trekkers and a quiet recess for anyone who’s looking for some
solitude.
Lockhart Tea Factory is the hometown of various artifacts created in the terms of ancient cultural,
historical, and artistic works. Lockhart Tea Museum is one such place which nurture their customers by
providing historical voyage about the first plantations of Munnar which was started during 1879. The
Factory here was constructed in 1936 that means before Independence Day. This living Factory gives a
handful of knowledge about orthodox tea processing and the operations that go into the making of
black tea, green tea, and white tea in traditional ways. still Lockhart Tea Museum contains various olden
equipments used in the plantation like Shears, Mechanical Harvesting Machine, Drake and Fletcher
Sprayer etc. Lockhart Factory is another important section of our Museum, Our factory follows Orthdox
Tea Manufacturing process. Tea is taking from a plant named Camellia Sinensis . The one important
speciality of our Lockhart Factory is its building which is not constructed according to the latest civil
construction. It is fully a wooden building constructed by following the old traditional methods.
Outside the Museum their present many medicinal plants, Nandyarvattam, Analivegam, Garlic etc. In
front of our factory a beautiful lawn is maintained which improves the scenic beauty of Our Lockhart Tea
Museum. Behind the Museum there we can see the Watch Tower also.
After Breakfast and check-out drive to Thekkady (03.30 Hrs / 115 Kms), Thekkady (Idukki district) is a
town near Periyar National Park, an important tourist attraction in the Kerala; The name Thekkady is
derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777
km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The wildlife sanctuary was
declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the
Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild
elephants, deer and bison that come down to drink in the lake.
On Arrival Check-in at Hotel Evening visit the famous Spice Plantation of Thekkady, The spice plantation
tour begins with a walk through the plantations, where visitors can see how the spices are grown and
harvested. They can also learn about the various traditional and modern techniques used in cultivation
and processing of spices, including organic farming methods. As visitors walk through the plantation,
they are welcomed with the aroma of different spices. The air is filled with the fragrance of cinnamon,
cardamom, and pepper. The tour guide explains the various uses of each spice, and visitors can even
taste before processing them. Apart from the spices, the spice plantation tour also offers visitors a
chance to see various medicinal plants and herbs that grow in Thekkady. The guide explains the various
medicinal properties of these plants, which have been used for centuries in Kerala Ayurvedic medicine.
Later in the Evening Witness the Famous Martial Art Show of Kerala The Kalaripayattu, Kalaripayattu-the
oldest of martial arts-is a gift to the modern world and known as the mother of all martial arts. legend
traces the 3000-year old art form to sage Parasurama-the master of all martial art forms and credited to
be the re-claimer of Kerala from the arabian sea. Kalaripayattu originated in ancient south India. Kung-
fu, popularized by the monks of the shaoline temple traces its ancestry to Bodhi Dharma-an Indian
Buddhist monk and Kalaripayattu master

Afternoon Take rest, evening get ready to for Elephant Program, which includes Half an hour ride +
Timber drag + Elephant bath & shower + Elephant feeding + Photo session + command and
communication + Tea / Coffee etc. You can enjoy the elephant safari which will take you through the
spice plantation where the gentle fresh breeze will completely refresh you!it is seen that the elephant
safari has helped the visitor to travel through such difficult terrains where even jeeps can’t venture. In
this ride you will take in the interior of the jungle to enjoy the beautiful hill town, spice gardens and a
breath- taking view of the rolling hills draped in lush greenery. These safaris are equipped with a
howdah which is a large seat on which they and the visitors sit along with an umbrella over the riders
head. The elephant moves slowly and steadily, that’s why this type of safari is ideal in and around the
wild regions. Enjoy this wonderful ride which will last for 30 minute. This is the time where you can have
an intimate interaction with the elephants.
After breakfast and Check-out driver from Mountains to Backwaters, Yes.. driver to Kumarakom; A
labyrinth of backwaters with shimmering water, the brilliant green of mangrove forests, coconut palms
lining the embankments, blue skies, flocks of migratory birds skimming the water – that is Kumarakom, a
veritable dreamland! Every year, more than seven million tourists visit Kerala, a place that the National
Geographic Magazine has described as one of the must-see places in a lifetime. Kumarakom is an
important stopover for a majority of these tourists. This famous tourist backwater hub is a cluster of
islands on the eastern banks of Lake Vembanad. Compared to adjacent villages, the lake has its
maximum length and breadth near Kumarakom - about eight km. With the huge lake on one side and
with a network of calm canals running through it, Kumarakom, a masterpiece created by man and
Nature together.
On Arrival Check-in at Your Day Cruise Houseboat, Kumarakom Houseboat routes are totally different
from any other Houseboat Routes, Kumarakom is full of narrow canals, Paddy Field and unending
Coconut Trees. The Cruise can offer you a direct view of Backwater village life, our boating will start
from kavanattinkara jetty at Vembanattu Kayal (Lake), pass through the famous Kumarakom Bird
Sanctuary which can offer you a panoramic view of the Bird Sanctuary, later the boat will enter into the
narrow Canlas covering the Famous Aymanam Village, specified in the book "The God of Small Things"
by Arundhati Roy. Also witness daily practice of lake side cloth washing, different type of Fishing. The
Cruise through Kumarakom backwater will be a greenish portrait of Kerala Village Life. Boat will offer a
Kerala Style Lunch in Banana Leaf with many curries.
Evening you will be transferred to the Resort, enjoy the mesmerising Evening
Day 06: Kumarakom – Cochin Airport Drop
Early in the Morning get ready to explore the famous Bird Sanctuary of Kumarakom by small Boat
(Shikkara). Morning is the perfect time to see the Birds. Sprawling across 14 hectares, and sitting by the
banks of the river Vembanad, Kumarakom bird sanctuary is a vibrant hub of rare and numerous avian
species. A multitude of migratory birds, from places as varied as the Himalayas to Siberia, flock to this
wet land area. After the boat Ride enjoy your breakfast from the Resort, later check-out. We will
transfer you to Cochin Airport as per the flight timing.
