Background
Lieve Junior Day and Boarding School is a
Mixed Nursery and Primary School located
in Kiteezi-Kabaga, Kasangati Town
Council Wakiso district that was
established in 2015. The schools neighbors
Kawempe; one of Kampala’s biggest slums
and is premised on the aspiration of
establishing a successful and sustainable
educational center that provides affordable,
relevant, high quality comprehensive
education services to children especially those from low income households, orphans and single
parents in the community. Driven by the principle of social inclusion, our approach will over time
enable us to create a favorable environment that embraces social, religious and cultural diversity
while supporting every individual learner to achieve their full potential.
We strive to offer a dynamic learning community where teachers and parents work harmoniously
together in supporting students to become long life learners. As a school with passion for supporting
the community, we shall always target key areas that holistically develop our students as successful
and motivated learners who strive to achieve their best. We strongly believe that through building
strong strategic partnerships with the local community, government, Non-governmental
Organizations (NGOs) and corporate entities that cherish our vision and cause, we shall enhance
our capacity to achieve this aim.
We have a clear vision and purpose to be recognized as a school focusing on delivering high quality
services. Our ultimate goal is to give every student the best education and equip them with skills to
adapt to and flourish within a consistently changing world.

8.0 Enrollment and Performance
8.1 Enrollment
Lieve Junior Day and Boarding School is a young and rapidly progressing school. We opened up
our gates for operation in 2015 with 27 learners; baby class 12, middle class 8 and top class7.
Currently the school runs from Nursery to Primary seven with an enrolment of 547 learners. Of
these, 268 are female while 279 are male.

8.2 Performance
In 2023 we had our very first cohort of primary seven learners sit the primary leaving exams (PLE)
set by Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) and gladly, of the twelve (12) learners who sat
for PLE, seven(7) passed in division one (1) while the rest passed in division two (2).

9.0 Prospects
9.1 Introduction
Lieve Junior Day and Boarding School, has been dedicated to providing affordable and high-quality
education to children from low-income households, orphans, and single parents in the community
since its establishment in 2015. All our energies are geared towards becoming a well-organized
comprehensive educational institution that fosters sustainable learning in a safe and secure
environment. As we continue our journey towards excellence in education, there arises a critical
need for expansion to accommodate our growing student population and provide enhanced facilities
for optimal learning environments.
9.2 Project Overview:
Lieve Junior aims to construct a three storied building that will house 32 classrooms and staff offices
under phase 2. This expansion will not only address the current space constraints but also enable us
to cater to more students and improve the overall learning environment and the educational
experience at Lieve Junior Day and Boarding School.
9.3 Project Objectives:
1 To increase the school's capacity to accommodate more students and reduce overcrowding in
existing classrooms.
2 To provide modern and conducive learning environment that promotes academic excellence
and holistic development.
3 To enhance the working conditions for staff members by providing well-equipped and
functional office spaces.
4 To promote sanitation and sustainability by incorporating rainwater harvesting systems into the
building design.
9.4 Project Scope:
The scope of the project includes:
1 Architectural design and planning for the four-storied building with 32 classrooms and staff
offices.
2 Construction of the building, including foundation work, structural framework, roofing, and
finishing.
3 Installation of rainwater harvesting systems to ensure sustainable water management.
4 Procurement and installation of necessary furniture, fixtures, and equipment for classrooms and
offices.
5 Compliance with building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.

9.6 Timeline:
The project is estimated to be completed within 24 months from the commencement of construction,
subject to factors such as weather conditions, funds availability and regulatory approvals.

Individual well-wishers, organizations and corporate entities can get involved in the development
process of our school in all possible ways including but not limited to; financial contribution to our
ongoing construction works to foster a safe learning environment for our learners, offering technical
advisory support, partnering with us on projects that can benefit our learners to acquire life and
practical skills, volunteering with our school for teaching and non-teaching services like capacity
building of management and teaching staff on various aspects like child care, better teaching
practices, environmental protection, donating educational materials like books, painting materials
and computers among others. We would also welcome sponsorship for some of our disadvantaged
learners who come from low income households and the orphans.
