LEGAL METHODS – ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES
1. Each student shall write an Assignment on the topic allotted/chosen
by them.
2. The Assignment shall be not be less than 1800 words
(approximately 15 pages) and the same shall be hand written in the
blue book/A4 size papers which can be bound together (hence leave
margin space). Please paginate the Assignment on the top outside
corner of the page.
3. The Assignment is due on 20.01.2022 (Thursday), by 03.00 PM. Any
delay in submission shall result in a penalty of one mark for each day.
4. The outline for the Assignment is as follows:
Introduction of the topic
Body – The content of the body differs with the topic chosen.
Students are required to portray in-depth research in this section
and not state just the bare minimum regarding the topic at hand.
Following contents are only suggestive in nature and not
compulsory -
o Explanation to the topic (mention relevant provisions of
law, substantiate with examples/illustrations if needed).
o Recent legal developments/issues if any.
o Recent important/landmark case laws or case studies if
any.
o Comparative analysis.
o Critical analysis.
Conclusion
5. Your Assignment shall contain the following in the given order –
Cover Page (mention the subject and the topic of the assignment
in the center of the page, followed by your details such as name,
roll no., class and section on the bottom left corner of the page)
Acknowledgement
Declaration (signed with date of submission of the assignment
and mention your name and details below it)
Index (mention heading and sub headings of your assignment
with page numbers)

6. Students shall be penalized for plagiarism.

7. Please remember that, the assignment you are writing is for a law
subject. Hence, you are required to stick to a legal perspective,
provide explanation on the laws, provisions of law, cases or the legal
system (as the case maybe). Do not write a very vague assignment,
which is more on the lines of history or sociology.
8. If the Assignment is not adhering to the rules mentioned above, it
shall be rejected. Submission of the revised Assignment will attract
penalty points, if there is a delay in submission.

shall contain the following in the given order –

Declaration (signed with date of submission of the assignment and
mention your name and details below it)

there is any test/other deadlines). Any delay in submission shall result in a
penalty of one mark for each day.
