Hack 2
Each level is covered on a separate page. Use the navigation pane on the right to jump through the levels. I'm a professional software engineer and it may leak through in some of the comments throughout the text. This is my first game walkthrough so please excuse any rough edges left in the text. Initial version submitted by Alexander Nickolov. Before you delve into the walkthrough, here are some tips and notes about how to play Hacker Evolution: Untold. Tips for maintaining your trace level:
Always monitor your trace level at all times. Delete log files on a server after even number of actions against it (decrypt and crack for example). You always reclaim half of the trace level attributed to that server rounded down, and all actions add odd numbers to the server's contributing trace level. Always prefer passwords and exploits to cracking. Passwords add 1% and exploits add 5% global trace level, while cracking adds 15% trace level to the server, 7% of which can be reclaimed for effective 8% global trace jackup. Upgrade your modem to at least level 2 (4 Gb) to increase the limit of your financial "transactions" to $4000. Even better - upgrade to modem level 3 (it's only $1000 more) for $8000 withdrawal limit and you'll never need to worry about multiple withdrawals. Each withdrawal costs 3% server trace level, so if you have to withdraw multiple times - delete the logs after multiples of two (or combine with your other actions). The fewer withdrawals you make the less your trace level jacks up. Use bounced links to increase your withdrawal limit (if possible and necessary). Each link doubles the trace time so it effectively doubles the amount you can withdraw. For example, two links with your basic modem give you $4000 withdrawal limit. These use up bounce points on the intermediate servers of course, so do this carefully. Like the previous point - the fewer withdrawals the less your trace level jacks up.
Don't upgrade your CPU until absolutely necessary. Hoard your money instead and perform other upgrades when you have abundance. You don't want to end in a position to have to downgrade in order to continue! Note that upgrading the CPU jacks up the dynamic game difficulty, so you are not progressing through the game any faster, but you do get higher scores (500 per level from dynamic diffculty 2).
Upgrade to modem level 2 or even 3 (it's only $1000 more) early to effectively remove the need for multiple money transfers from a host. Consider upgrading a bit more when necessary (assuming you have the funds) to avoid secondary upgrades wasting money later on. E.g. upgrade to 2GHz secondary CPU instead of 1GHz, upgrade to level 2 firewall instead of 1 and the combination of the two gives you 9x power (3x processing power from the 3GHz of the two CPUs and 3x trace time increase from the level 2 firewall). A firewall gives you immediate boost for both money transfers and decrypts / cracks, but the pace of the game remains sluggish. I'd recommend upgrading the modem and CPU first before you get into firewalls. It does work in a pinch though.
Dynamic difficulty is a factor applied to the base encryption strengths of all servers in the level. E.g. with dynamic difficulty level 2 all servers are twice harder to decrypt. Ideally, it should be applied to the lengths of all passwords as well to provide balanced difficulty, but the game doesn't actually do so. This may be considered a bug. Most instructions in the walkthrough actually provide sufficient bounce links to cover for strengthened passwords as well so they may seem a bit wasteful. This is so the walkthrough remains valid in case password legths begin to be affected by the dynamic difficulty. I've only seen dynamic difficulty levels 1 and 2. Level 2 appears when you upgrade your CPU, e.g. buy a second CPU. It seem logical that the dynamic difficulty would follow your combined CPU strength (e.g. 1 for 1GHz, 2 for 23GHz, 4 for 4-6GHz and so on), but this isn't so. Thus later levels get progressively easier to solve since you can upgrade your hardware better. Also, dynamic difficulty does not appear to be affected by your firewall level in the slightest. Dynamic difficulty is applied regardless of whether you've enabled it in the options. This is apparently a bug. However, dynamic difficulty only gives you an end level bonus if it is indeed enabled in the options. Thus you better enable it for better score.
Cheats:
In this cheat(hack) you can change the atm servers cryption keys to lower (256>3) and make the cash amount whatever you want (1000$->100000$) It looks pretty easy but you need to pay attention otherwise you may broke-down the game. After this cheat, you can never submit your highscores to Exospyhen servers.
So lets start: A. To view the whole server list in the level you are in:
1.go to ..Program Files\Hacker Evolution Untold\hemod-untold 2.you will see the levels folder here. enter the folder that belogs the level which you are stuck. 3.when you enter in the level`s folder you will see the servers` names. B. To hack the atm servers for easy connection(lots of money, easy decryption and easy crack): 1.find and enter in the atm`s folder in the level`s folder. (ex:C:\Program Files\Hacker Evolution Untold\hemod-untold\level-3\atm-12.fcsb.com) 2.open the `info` file with a notepad editor. 3.in the file; 2nd line means the cash amount of atm and 3rd line means cryption code level. you can write 999999 to 2nd line and 0 to 3rd line. this will make no decryption needed for atm and it will hold 999999$ inside.
As a result you can hack all servers out of the game for easy access in the game. Note: after you made changes in the files during the start of the game, you will probably get an error that says `Online highscore submission has been disabled.` just click ok and continue.
