4. OPTION SETTING
4.1 Outline
This section describes the option license mechanism of CT systems and the procedures for
making the license available.
The system has separate option hardware licenses for each console.
The option hardware license is inserted in the USB port inside the console.
If the option hardware license is recognized normally, all options are disabled.
Therefore, do not remove the option hardware license from the system.
As the option hardware license can be removed from the system, if the system needs to be
replaced, remove the option hardware license and mount it in the new system. This permits
the option license provided at the time of release to be used continuously.
44
No. 2D260-132EN
Perform the following procedure to confirm that the option hardware license operates
normally.
Select [Utility] [Engineering] and enter the password. Then select [Adv Engineer], enter
the password, and select [Option License].
The window shown in figure 4.2-1 is displayed.

In this tool, the dose values of the scans already performed and the dose value of the scan
currently being planned are summed for the eXam Plan currently being executed. If the
cumulative dose value exceeds the reference value (dose alert value), a warning message is
displayed.
For the cumulative values, either one of the following dose values or both of them can be set.
First, the CTDIvol values of the scans already performed and the CTDIvol value of the scan
currently being planned are summed for each slice position for the current patient (refer to the
figure below). Then the maximum value of the cumulative CTDIvol is detected within the
scan range of the eXam Plan currently being executed. This maximum value is referred to as
"Cumulative CTDIvol".
Total DLP indicates the total DLP value in which the DLP values of the scans already
performed and the DLP value of the scan currently being planned for the current patient are
added.
