1. OUTLINE

1.1 Scope

This manual describes the procedures for servicing the software for the Toshiba X-ray CT scanner
Alexion TSX-032A.

2. INSTALLATION OF THE ENGINEERING MENU

2.1 Outline

This section describes the installation of the engineering menu.

2.2 Installing the Engineering Menu

(1) Place the media ("EU Installer") into the drive.

* This media can be used only in the X-ray CT scanner.

(2) Start up Explorer at the system and double-click "EUInstaller.exe" in the media.

(3) Select [install] in the window shown in the figure below.

(4) A confirmation window is displayed. Click [OK].

(5) After installation is completed, select [Quit] and remove the media from the drive.

Explorer is terminated.

2.3 Checking Installation

(1) Select [Utility] in the command box and then select [Engineering].

Enter the password in the Input Password window.

(2) The following window is displayed.

Confirm that the "Adv Engineer" menu has been added.

3. DCA OPERATING PROCEDURES

3.1 Outline

DCA has the following functions.

(1) Patient information editing

As is the case for study data, patient name, patient ID, and a comment can be added to data
acquired using DCA.

(2) Data acquisition

Various acquisition parameters can be specified for projection data acquisition.

(3) Raw data reading/writing

Raw data can be selected from the raw data directory.

(4) Preprocessing

Acquired data undergoes preprocessing.

(5) Correction processing

Correction or inverse correction is performed for preprocessed data or selected raw data.

The current version does not support inverse correction.

(6) Offset acquisition

Offset acquisition can be performed independently of scanning.

(7) Reconstruction processing

Image data is reconstructed from data which has undergone correction processing or from
selected raw data. Various parameters can be set.

(8) Data display

Numerical value display, sinogram display, and graph display can be performed for acquired
data, offset data, etc.

(9) Utility

The mean and SD values of acquired data, offset data, etc. can be calculated. The results
can be saved or written.

3.2 Startup and Termination

(1) Startup

(a) Click [Utility] in the Command Box and then click [Engineering]. The Input Password
window is displayed.

(b) Enter the password and click [OK]. Then select [Adv Engineer].
The Adv Engineer InputPassword window is displayed.

(c) Enter the password and click [OK]. The window shown in figure 3.2-2 is displayed.

(d) Click [DCA] in the displayed window.

(2) Termination

Click [Quit] in the interactive window to terminate DCA.

3.3 Details of Each Function and Operating Procedures

When DCA is started up, the window shown in figure 3.3-1 is displayed. This is the main window
in which the functions described in subsection 3.1 "Outline" can be selected. A subwindow is
displayed depending on the function selected.

Details of each function are given below.

<1> Patient information editing

"0001" is displayed for ID and "DCA" is displayed for Name as the initial values.
In addition, the Study number, Series number, and Slice number of the raw data selected
from the raw data directory are displayed. To facilitate data management, the scan times of
the acquired data sets are also displayed.
These information items can be modified by clicking [Set Inf.].

NOTE: A comment can be entered to describe the purpose of the scanned data.
Normally, up to 4 lines can be used for comment entry. Only the first 2 lines are
available for the DCA. The last 2 lines are used for NRA ON/OFF information.

<2> Data acquisition

When [Acq.] is clicked, the scan start key lights. Pressing this scan start key
starts data acquisition (X-ray exposure). If necessary, press the scan interruption

key to stop X-ray exposure.

Data acquisition is performed using the acquisition conditions that have been selected using
[Acq. Detail]. The conditions that can be selected using [Acq. Detail] are shown in figure
3.3-2. Items that cannot be selected due to the scan conditions are grayed out.

<3> Raw data reading/writing

When [Raw File] is clicked, the raw data directory is displayed. Select only one raw data
image to be processed from the image list.

By clicking [Raw Save], the currently selected data that has been acquired using DCA can be
saved as raw data in the raw data directory. Data that can be saved is data undergoing
through and log conversion. ON/OFF information for NRA is automatically set in the
comment lines when data is saved. At this time, modify the ID/name using the patient
information editing function described in <1> above. This will be helpful when checking data
in the future.

<4> Preprocessing

Use [Pre-Proc] to select the desired processing. Processing is performed by selecting


[Re-Correct]. Processing can be repeated as many times as required.

(a) Through

No preprocessing operations are performed for acquired data. [Through] is selected as


the default setting.

(b) Decode

Decode processing is performed based on Gain bit of the acquired data.

(c) Offset

DAS offset correction is performed using offset data acquired during scanning or offset
data acquired previously. To determine which offset data should be used, refer to step
<6> "Offset acquisition".

(d) Ref.

X-ray Reference correction is performed using the Reference data included in the
acquired data.

(e) Log.

Log conversion is performed for reconstruction. Step <5> "Correction processing" and
<7> "Reconstruction processing" cannot be performed without completing all processing
operations up to this item.

<5> Correction processing

When processing up to log conversion is performed for the acquired data, ON or OFF can be
selected for NRA and overflow. Set the required processing item to ON and click
[Re-Correct] to perform the corresponding correction processing.

Select raw data acquired by standard scanning, set NRA to OFF, and select [Re-Correct].
Each type of correction processing can be released. The NRA data sets used to release
each correction processing must be those saved in the corresponding system.

<6> Offset acquisition

Offset acquisition is performed independently of scanning. Select [Offset]. When offset data
acquisition starts as soon as [Acq] is selected, the message "With Scan" is displayed. When
offset data is acquired independently, the acquisition time is displayed. The offset data
displayed here is used as the offset data in step <4> "Preprocessing".

<7> Reconstruction processing

When processing up to log conversion is performed for the acquired data, [Recon.] becomes
selectable. The FC, Full/Half, and image filter conditions are displayed next to [Recon.]. If
these conditions do not need to be changed, click [Recon.]. Reconstructed images are
generated based on the acquired data. To change the conditions, select [Recon. Detail].
The window shown in figure 3.3-3 is displayed. In this window, change the desired conditions.
When [OK] is selected, reconstruction starts. Images reconstructed by the DCA are saved in
addition to normal images.

<8> Data display

(a) Sinogram display

When [Sino] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-4 is displayed.

First select the display target from between [Scan Data] and [NRA].

Scan Data is data selected from data sets acquired using DCA or from data sets in the
raw data directory.

When [NRA] is selected, NRA data used by the system is read and displayed.

The purpose of displaying NRA data in sinogram display mode is to check whether or
not there are abnormal values.

When [Scan Data] is selected, enter in the "Start *** Rot" column the number of
rotations from which display of continuous data is to be started. Data other than
continuous data does not give meaningful results.

When [OK] is clicked, the sinogram display window is displayed.

In sinogram display mode, dump display (CT No.) and magnification display (Zoom) of
the ROI area, profile display (Profile), etc. are possible.
For details, refer to subsection 3.4.4 "Sinogram check".

(b) Numerical value display

When [Dump] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-8 is displayed.

First, select the display target from among [Scan Data (Main)], [Scan Data (Other)],
[Offset], [NRA (Normal)], [NRA (Dose Reduction)], and [Result].

Scan Data is data selected from data sets acquired using DCA or from data sets in the
raw data directory.

For [Scan Data (Other)], extra data, Ref data, etc. is selected from the acquired data
sets and displayed.

For [Offset], data selected in Offset acquisition mode is displayed.

For [NRA], NRA data used by the system is read and displayed. 'Normal' indicates
NRA data used for normal scanning and 'Dose Reduction' indicates NRA data used in
exposure dose reduction mode.

For [Result], eight temporarily saved files containing the calculation results are read and
displayed.

"ECG" dumps ECG data for raw data acquired by ECG-gated helical scanning.

In the "Display Parameter" area, decimal notation ("Decimal") or hexadecimal notation


("Hex") can be selected. It is also possible to specify the number of channels to be
displayed at one time. This is convenient for switching the display for every DAS PWB.

In addition, the "Start" and "End" columns can be used to specify the start and end
points for each projection and channel.

To select extra data, click [Scan Data (Other)] and then select the data to be displayed
from the selection column to the right of [Scan Data (Other)]. When NRA data is
selected for display, the tube voltage (kV), the field size (FOV), and the slice thickness
(Thickness) can be specified. The "Result" column is used to specify the result file to be
displayed.

<9> Utility

(a) Calculation

When [Calc (Scan Data)] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-9 is displayed.

The mean value, SD value, maximum value, minimum value, and the mean value
divided by the SD value are calculated for the acquired data or raw data selected from
the raw data directory.

Select the calculation direction from among [Projection], [Channel], and [All].

The "Start" and "End" columns can be used to specify the range of acquired raw data to
be used for calculation. Setting is possible for each projection and channel.

The results are saved in a temporary file. The file used for saving the results is
automatically selected from files 1 to 8.

(b) Calculation (between results)

The results obtained by (a) "Calculation" are saved in 'Result 1' to 'Result 8'. Here, basic
arithmetic operations are performed between the results saved in 'Result 1' to 'Result 8'.
When [Calc (Result)] is selected, the window shown in figure 3.3-10 is displayed.

Specify the Result file to be used and the operation to be performed and then select
[OK]. Calculation starts. [Copy] is used to copy the contents to the specified Result file
unchanged. When [Set] is selected, the ID and the name can be entered in order to
identify the Result file. The default settings are the ID and the name displayed in the
patient information area (Information).

(c) Result saving

When [Load and Save] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-11 is displayed.

In this window, data to be analyzed at TAC or at Nasu Works can be converted for
remote maintenance.

[Result] data can be selected for this purpose.


In the File Name column, enter the name of the file to be saved after data selection.
Then, click [SET].
Delete unnecessary data using [DEL].

To analyze data for another site, move the target data to a directory and change the
direction of the arrow on the key. This operation permits data for another site to be
loaded. Note that this causes the data of your system to be overwritten.

<10> Saving acquired data as PC files/Loading the acquired data PC files

(a) Saving

Data acquired using the DCA can be saved as PC files.


When [Save] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-12 is displayed.

Enter the filename and click [OK].

The following files are saved in the "dca" folder of drive "S".

Note that when "Mean/SD" in the above window is set to OFF, only files <1> to <3> are
saved.

(b) Loading

The acquired data saved as PC files can be loaded using the DCA.
When [Load] is clicked, the window shown in figure 3.3-13 is displayed.

The list of files stored in the "dca" folder of drive "S" is displayed.
Enter the name of the file to be loaded and click [OK]. File loading starts.
Instead of entering the filename directly, the name can be copied to the filename input
field by double-clicking it in the file list.

3.4 DCA Test Procedures

The DCA operating procedures that are often used to correct a problem with the data acquisition
section are described here.

3.4.1 X-ray output check

(1) Data acquisition

(a) Start the DCA and click [Acq. Detail] (<1> of figure 3.4-1).

The scan condition window is displayed (figure 3.4-2).

(2) Calculation

Example: To calculate the mean value of all projection directions for all channels

(a) Select [Offset] in the "Pre-Proc. and Correction" area (<3> of figure 3.4-3) and click
[Re-Correct] (<4> of figure 3.4-3).

(b) Select the row for calculation in the "Display and Utility" area (<5> of figure 3.4-3)
and click [Calc (ScanData)] (<6> of figure 3.4-3).

The Calc (ScanData) window is displayed (figure 3.4-4).

(c) Enter the start channel [Start] and the end channel [End] (<7> and <8> of figure 3.4-4)
and place a checkmark in the [Channel] column (<9> of figure 3.4-4). (Keep the
default setting for "Projection".)

NOTE: To refer to the extra data, enter "E0" in the [Start] column of "Channel". For the
meaning of each channel of extra data, refer to the service manual (data transfer
system volume).

3.4.2 Offset data check

(1) X-ray inhibit

A series of control operations can be performed without generating X-rays. Since X-rays
are not actually generated, this is useful for control system check, DAS noise check etc.

(2) Data acquisition

(a) Start the DCA and click [Acq. Detail] (<1> of figure 3.4-9).
The scan condition window is displayed (figure 3.4-10).

Whether or not X-rays are to be generated (ON/OFF) can be specified in the scan
condition window displayed by clicking [Acq.Detail] (figure 3.4-10).
Data can be acquired without generating X-rays by setting OFF for "Xray".

(1) Data acquisition

Use the DCA to set the DAS to test mode and perform scanning to check the test pattern.

(a) Start the DCA and click [Acq. Detail] (<1> of figure 3.4-15).

The X-ray conditions and DAS Mode conditions do not need to be set, because even
if X-rays are generated and the signals are entered to the DAS, they are ignored and
the test patterns are given priority. The test patterns are checked automatically.
Check the results. When the comparison results are all correct, "No difference" is
displayed. If an abnormality is found, the abnormal part is displayed. The results are
recorded under "/tmp/c16tp.txt/".

3.4.4 Sinogram check

Sinogram display is useful for analyzing data around the abnormal channel and identifying the
abnormal channel when an artifact occurs.

(1) Acquisition or selection of data

 When data is acquired

(a) Start the DCA, click [Acq. Detail] to set the scan conditions, and then start
scanning.

(b) Perform the required preprocessing by selecting the appropriate menu item in the
"Pre-Proc" area. Normally, [Offset] and then [Re-Correct] should be selected.

 When already acquired data is selected

(a) Start the DCA and click [Raw File]. Select one raw data set from the displayed raw
data directory (if more than one raw data set is specified, the first raw data set in
the directory is selected.)

(b) When the raw data is selected, preprocessing is not required (because correction
has already been performed).

(2) Calculation

(a) Clicking [Sino] in the "Display and Utility" area displays the Sino setting window
shown in figure 3.4-18.

(b) Normally, [Scan Data (Main)] should be selected for Sino display.

(c) For dynamic data, specify the rotation number at which display is to be started.

The interactive window shown in figures 3.4-19 and 3.4-20 is displayed when [Refer]
is selected. The position information of the raw data used for reconstruction of the
object can be displayed from the image data information.

(3) Sinogram display

The sinogram is displayed in a 1024  1024 matrix.


When [CT No.] (<1> in figure 3.4-21) is clicked, a rectangular ROI (<2> in figure 3.4-21)
and the data values within the rectangular ROI (<3> in figure 3.4-21) are displayed.
Each time the mouse is clicked in the data value display window (<4> in figure 3.4-21), the
data value display switches between decimal notation and hexadecimal notation.
[▲] and [▼] (<5> in figure 3.4-21) can be used to select the display target row.
[Up] and [Down] (<6> in figure 3.4-21) are for page scrolling. This is enabled when the
target data exceeds 1024 views. When [Down] is clicked, the data values for the next
1024 views are displayed. When [Up] is clicked, the data values for the previous 1024
views are displayed.

NOTE: Abnormal images may result in abnormalities on the sinogram.

Streak artifacts : Abnormal count points.


Ring artifacts : Abnormal count lines in the vertical (view) direction.

(a) WW/WL adjustment mode (mouse mode)

Click [WW/WL]. This is the default mode when the sinogram display window is
displayed.

The WW/WL settings can be adjusted by dragging the left mouse button as follows:

Upward : Reduces the window level.


Downward : Increases the window level.
To the right : Increases the window width.
To the left : Reduces the window width.

The WW/WL settings can also be changed even in modes other than this mode using
the WW/WL dials or by entering a value directly as described in step (e) below.

(b) Dump display mode

Click [CT No.].


A rectangular ROI (15  15) appears to dump-display the data values within the ROI
on the scanogram in decimal notation or hexadecimal notation (figures 3.4-23 and
3.4-24).
The rectangular ROI is displayed at the location where the left mouse button is
clicked. The rectangular ROI can be dragged using the left mouse button. It is also
possible to use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the rectangular ROI.
Each time the mouse is clicked in the data value display area of the rectangular ROI,
the display format switches between decimal notation and hexadecimal notation.

Click [Profile].
A linear ROI is displayed, and the data profile on the ROI is displayed. "CH direction
(X)", "view direction (Y)", or "Both (X/Y)" can be selected.
The linear ROI is displayed at the location where the left mouse button is clicked.
The linear ROI can be dragged using the left mouse button. It is also possible to use
the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the linear ROI.
In the "Chan/Proj fields, the CH position and VIEW position of the linear ROI are

Scale marks, which are used to check the regularity of abnormal data and so on, are
displayed on the scanogram.
The interval of the scale marks can be adjusted by entering numerical values in the
X: Start/Pitch and Y: Start/Pitch fields (figures 3.4-31 and 3.4-32).
The scale marks in the X direction are useful for showing the borders of the DAS
PWBs in profile display. The numerical value to be entered in the X: Start field is the
same as the index in the X direction for dump display.
(If linear ROI display is not updated even after the entry is set, click [Profile] again.
The ROI display is updated.)

(e) WW/WL value entry

Numerical values can be entered to adjust the WW/WL.

(f) Page change

The sinogram display area size is fixed to a 1024  1024 matrix. For data exceeding
1024 views such as helical scan data and dynamic scan data, click [Up]/[Down] to
change the area to be displayed. In addition, the beginning of the data to be
displayed can be specified by entering a numerical value in the Proj/Rot. field.

(g) Display row change

The row for sinogram display can be changed by entering a numerical value directly
or using [▲] and [▼].

(h) Compress

This is used to display the air data after low-mA decode processing (e.g., 50 mA) is

4. OPTION SETTING

4.1 Outline

This section describes the option license mechanism of CT systems and the procedures for
making the license available.

4.2 Option Hardware Licenses

The system has separate option hardware licenses for each console.

(1) Handling the license

The option hardware license is inserted in the USB port inside the console.

If the option hardware license is recognized normally, all options are disabled.

Therefore, do not remove the option hardware license from the system.

As the option hardware license can be removed from the system, if the system needs to be
replaced, remove the option hardware license and mount it in the new system. This permits
the option license provided at the time of release to be used continuously.

(2) License check procedure

Perform the following procedure to confirm that the option hardware license operates
normally.

Select [Utility]  [Engineering] and enter the password. Then select [Adv Engineer], enter
the password, and select [Option License].
The window shown in figure 4.2-1 is displayed.

When a 32-digit character string is displayed in the UNIQUE ID field, the option hardware
license is recognized normally.

The option hardware license number displayed here is required when the option license is

4.3 Option Licenses

An option license can be handled by saving it to a USB flash drive or as a key code.
Usually, a USB flash drive is used for shipment.

<Inserting a USB flash drive>

Remove the front cover of the console and insert a USB flash drive into a USB port on the front of
the console. Either USB port can be used. Do not use two USB flash drives at the same time.

<Removing a USB flash drive>

Select [Utility] – [Engineering], enter the password, and then select [Show Taskbar]. Press the
[Ctrl] + [ESC] keys to display the taskbar.

Right-click in the taskbar and select [Safely Remove Hardware] as shown in the figure above
to stop access to the USB flash drive. If the USB flash drive is removed without stopping access to
the USB flash drive, the data in the USB flash drive may be corrupted. Keep this in mind.

Remove the USB flash drive from the USB port.

After the USB flash drive has been removed, select [Utility] – [Engineering], enter the password,
and then select [Hide Taskbar] to hide the taskbar. Note that when the system is restarted, the
taskbar is not displayed even if [Hide Taskbar] is not executed.

(1) Select [Utility]  [Engineering] and enter the password. Then select [Adv Engineer], enter
the password, and select [Option License].
The window shown in figure 4.3-1 is displayed.

[Media check].

Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port and click [Load License].

The window shown in figure 4.3-3 is displayed, indicating that the license is available in the
system.

Use the method described in (2) to confirm that the UNIQUE ID is on the media.

(4) Procedure for returning the license to the media

The license can be returned to the media. Insert the corresponding media in the system in
which the license was incorrectly applied and then click [Unload license]. After operation is
completed, use the method described in (2) to check the media and confirm that "----" is
displayed in the UNIQUE ID field.

(5) Procedure for checking the license status

When [List] is selected in the window shown in figure 4.3-1, the window shown in 4.3-4 is
displayed. In this window, licenses that have already been made available, licenses that
have not been made available, and licenses used as part of 90-day trial can be checked. For
90-day trial licenses, the number of days remaining is displayed.

Although the license status can also be checked by selecting [Utility]  [Option]  [License
List], this method displays only licenses that have already been made available and licenses
used as part of a free trial.

4.4 Operational Checks

After making option licenses available, perform operational checks according to the instructions
described in the corresponding installation manuals.

5. RESTORING THE ORIGINAL EXAM PLANS

The original eXam Plans (including the default parameters for SureIQ etc.) set before shipment can

(3) Formatting a DVD-RAM

Before a new DVD-RAM is used, it must be formatted.

Formatting is also required when a DVD-RAM is to be reused by deleting all the data stored
in the DVD-RAM.

Place the DVD-RAM in the drive and perform the following procedures.

(a) When the site information backup function is started up, the interactive window shown in
figure 6.2-1 is displayed. In the displayed window, select [DVD Format].

(b) When the confirmation window (figure 6.2-6) is displayed, click [Yes] and then follow the

6.3.1 Backing up calibration data

(1) Use the calibration data backup tool "WpBackupTo HDD" to back up the calibration data
from the RDD to the HDD of the scan system.

Enter the following commands.

> WpBackupToHDD-wE:/CALIB[Enter]

Data is read from the RDD (-w: RDD  file) and backup data files are generated in the
E:\CALIB directory.

The processing time is up to approximately 1 minute.

When processing is completed, the following message is displayed.

"Calib (WP) data backup end."

The backup files generated in the E:\CALIB directory are:

(2) Copy the files to appropriate media such as DVD-RAM as required.

Explorer can be used to copy to DVD-RAM.

The copy time is up to approximately 1 minute.

6.3.2 Restoring calibration data

(1) Copy the backup files stored on DVD-RAM etc. to the E:\CALIB directory.

Restoration is impossible unless all files created at the time of backup are prepared.

(2) Use the calibration backup tool "WpBackupTo HDD" to write the copied calibration data to
the RDD by entering the following commands.

> cdx:/[Enter]
> WpBackupToHDD-rE:/CALIB[Enter]

The data is read from the files in the E:\CALIB directory (-r: file  RDD) and is written to
the RDD.

When processing is completed, the following message is displayed.

"Calib (WP) data backup end."

(3) Calibration data acquisition (Air data only)

Start up the calibration data acquisition function to perform air data acquisition (including
data for scanoscopy).

NOTE: Only WP calibration data can be saved (air data is not saved). When calibration
data restoration is performed, only WP data is restored. Therefore, air data must
be acquired again.

methods for setting the software according to the hardware, and the software license installation

7.4 Setup Procedure When the Hardware Is Changed

Perform the following operations in the Setup main window.

 Change in the tube type and HFG type ("Tube & HFG") :

The types of X-ray tube units and HFG units that are available for the currently selected system
are displayed. Select the desired type from the choices displayed.

 Reconstruction unit ("Reconstruction Unit"):

It is not necessary to make a selection for "Reconstruction Unit". (STAR is selected as the
default setting.)

8. DOSE CHECK SETTING TOOL

8.1 Outline

In this tool, the dose values of the scans already performed and the dose value of the scan
currently being planned are summed for the eXam Plan currently being executed. If the
cumulative dose value exceeds the reference value (dose alert value), a warning message is
displayed.

For the cumulative values, either one of the following dose values or both of them can be set.

(1) Cumulative CTDIvol

First, the CTDIvol values of the scans already performed and the CTDIvol value of the scan
currently being planned are summed for each slice position for the current patient (refer to the
figure below). Then the maximum value of the cumulative CTDIvol is detected within the
scan range of the eXam Plan currently being executed. This maximum value is referred to as
"Cumulative CTDIvol".

(2) Total DLP

Total DLP indicates the total DLP value in which the DLP values of the scans already
performed and the DLP value of the scan currently being planned for the current patient are
added.

8.2 Startup

(1) Click [Utility] in the Command Box and then click [Engineering]. The Input Password window
is displayed.

(2) Enter the password and click [OK]. Then select [Adv Engineer].
The Adv Engineer InputPassword window is displayed.

(3) Enter the password and click [OK]. The following window is displayed.

(4) Select [Dose Check Setting Tool].

(5) Click [Quit] in the interactive window to terminate the Dose Check Setting Tool.

8.3 Setting the Dose Alert Value

(1) Set valid/invalid for the dose alert value for Cumulative CTDIvol.

(2) Specify the dose alert value for Cumulative CTDIvol separately for the adult/pediatric and
brain/body.

(3) Set valid/invalid for the dose alert value for Total DLP.

(4) Specify the dose alert value for Total DLP separately for the adult/pediatric and brain/body.

(5) Set whether the password input is required when scanning is performed with the dose
exceeding the dose alert value. When this button is set to ON, the following password setting
window is displayed. To change the password, set this button to OFF and then set this
button to ON again to display the following window. Enter the password to be set and then
click [OK].

(6) Save the settings.

(7) Close the window.

9. VOICE SETTING TOOL

9.1 Outline

Voice message setting can be performed in engineering mode. In this mode, the following types of
setting, which are not available in the voice message setting tool started from the Utility menu, can
be performed.

 Editing of comments for all voice messages

 Specification of the voice messages to be loaded when the system starts up

9.2 Startup

(1) Click [Utility] in the Command Box and then click [Engineering]. The Input Password window
is displayed.

The Adv Engineer InputPassword window is displayed.

(3) Enter the password and click [OK]. The following window is displayed.

(4) Select [Voice Setting Tool].

(5) Click [Quit] in the interactive window to terminate the Voice Setting Tool.

9.3 Voice Message Setting in Engineering Mode

When the Voice Setting Tool is started up in engineering mode, the following window is displayed.

In the Voice Setting Tool in engineering mode, the following types of setting, which are not
available in the voice message setting tool started from the Utility menu, can be performed.

 Editing of comments for all voice messages (without the limitations present in the voice
message setting tool started from the Utility menu)

 Specification of the voice messages to be loaded when the system starts up

The other types of setting are the same as those available in the voice message setting tool
started from the Utility menu.

<1> Editing of comments for all voice messages

Comments for voice messages can be edited in the same manner as in the voice message
setting tool started from the Utility menu. However, in engineering mode, the comments for
all the voice messages can be edited.

<2> Specification of the voice messages to be loaded when the system starts up

The voice messages to be loaded when the system starts up can be specified individually.
Voice messages with a total length of up to 128 s can be specified. Other voice messages
are loaded automatically as required during scanning.

10. UNINSTALLATION OF THE ENGINEERING MENU

10.1 Outline

This section describes the uninstallation of the engineering menu.

10.2 Uninstalling the Engineering Menu

(1) Place the media ("EU Installer") into the drive.

* This media can be used only in the X-ray CT scanner.

(2) Start up Explorer at the system and double-click "EUInstaller.exe" in the media.

(3) Select [uninstall] in the window shown in the figure below.

(4) A confirmation window is displayed. Click [OK].

(5) After uninstallation is completed, select [Quit] and remove the media from the drive.

Explorer is terminated.

10.3 Checking Uninstallation

(1) Select [Utility] in the command box and then select [Engineering].

Enter the password in the Input Password window.

(2) The following window is displayed.

Confirm that the "Adv Engineer" menu has been removed.
