Study trip
Immersion learning is the best way to bring classroom theory and business
fundamentals to real life. As part of your EMBA journey, you will have the
opportunity to take two trips that allow you to tackle challenges as a team
and take deep-dives into key areas of business management. Africa study trip
(optional): held in a different country each year Immersion trip to New York.
AFRICA & NEW These experiences include a series of meetings with company leaders
YORK CITY representing the full spectrum of local to multinational organizations and
STUDY TRIPS industries, as well as visits to government officials to learn about economic
and geo-political issues. Your trips provide a glimpse into the culture,
practices, challenges, and opportunities of emerging and established,
international markets.
As a group, you will complete a final project that
demonstrates your integrated learnings from the program and applies this
newfound knowledge and skills to make a positive societal impact. Working
with ABS and Columbia faculty, you will design a project that solves real-world
problems. Your project may take the form of a strategic audit of a company or
business unit, a consulting project which addresses a specific business issue,
ACTION an in-depth case study of a particular industry or enterprise, or the integration
LEARNING of a business theme related to a specific industry or challenge you
PROJECT encountered during your Africa Study trip. We challenge you to conceive of a
project that addresses concerns of the community through your own
experiences and unique world view.

Africa Business School
Founded in 2016 as part of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, the Africa
