Rule Book

Note: All the participants must abide by the rules as under:


1. General Information
• Event Date: 20 August, 2024
• Location: GNA University-Business Technology Incubator, Phagwara, Punjab, India
• Submission Deadline: 16 August, 2024
2. Eligibility
• Open to all GUiets, alumni, and budding entrepreneurs.
• Open to all students and budding entrepreneurs from reputed schools, Colleges,
Universities
• Open to all registered startups (with mandatory CIN)
• Teams can consist of 1-5 members. One member must not be in more than one team.
• Participants must submit their entries on or before the deadline.
3. Entry Submission
• Format: All entries should be submitted in PDF format.
• Content: The submission should include:
• Executive Summary (1 page)
• Business Plan (up to 10 pages)
• Pitch Deck (10-15 slides)
• Any relevant supporting documents (e.g., financial projections, market analysis)
• Submission Method: Entries should be emailed to [[email protected]]
(mailto: [email protected]).
• The selected startups will present their innovative ideas on stage before a live audience,
with judges having the opportunity to engage in rigorous questioning and negotiation
for potential partnerships or investments.
4. Presentation Guidelines
• Each team will have 10 minutes to present their business plan, followed by a 5-minute
Q&A session.
• Presentations must be in English.
• Visual aids (e.g., PowerPoint slides) are recommended.

5. Booth Setup (for Exhibition)

• Space Allocation: Each team will be provided with a designated booth space. The
dimensions and layout will be communicated to the shortlisted participants.
• Setup Time: Booth setup should be completed one hour before the exhibition begins.
Late setups may not be accommodated.
• Materials: Participants must bring their own materials, including posters, prototypes,
products, and any other display items. Basic facilities such as tables, chairs, and power
outlets will be provided.

6. Exhibition Presentation and Conduct

• Booth Attendance: At least one team member must be present at the booth at all times
during the exhibition hours to interact with attendees.
• Professional Conduct: Participants should conduct themselves professionally,
engaging with attendees, answering questions, and explaining their ideas clearly.
• Interactivity: Teams are encouraged to make their booths interactive and engaging,
using demonstrations, prototypes, and multimedia presentations.

7. Judging Criteria: Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:


• Innovation and Creativity: Originality of the business idea.
• Feasibility and Market Potential: Practicality and market demand.
• Financial Viability: Soundness of financial projections.
• Team Strength: Skills and experience of the team members.
• Social Impact: Potential positive impact on society.
8. Awards and Prizes
• Best Startup Idea: Trophy and Certificate
• Runner-Ups (First & Second) : Trophy and Certificate
• Special Recognition: Certificates for notable mentions
• Participation certificates for all the participants
Incubation Opportunity: Selected ideas will have the opportunity to incubate at the GU-TBI
cell.
9. Code of Conduct
• Participants must adhere to professional and respectful behavior throughout the event.
• Plagiarism and dishonesty in any form are strictly prohibited and will result in
disqualification.
10. Intellectual Property
• Participants retain all rights to their business ideas and intellectual property.
• By submitting an entry, participants agree to allow the organizers to use their materials
for promotional purposes.
11. If any information provided by the company is found to be false or inaccurate, the investors
or the organizing team have the complete authority to terminate the contract at any time.
12. Any misbehaving with the investors or any organizing team member is liable to get the
participant disqualified.
13. Participants must be aware that Business Conclave, is only a platform and that we have no
involvement in any decisions or deals completed.
14. Investor funding is subject to their discretion and cannot be questioned.

Notification of Acceptance: 18 August, 2024
Event Date: 20 August, 2024
There is no Registration fee to participate.
