High voltage cut off cannot be ensured. Start rescue operation, but if the high
voltage parts are damaged exposing the wires or terminals, never touch the exposed
areas and take extra care to make sure that the exposed areas do not come in
contact with the vehicle or person.
Warning
• If the orange high voltage cable or the high voltage cable cover is damaged exposing the wires
and terminals, NEVER TOUCH the exposed components or wires. Do not touch any of the
exposed wires or terminals if you are not sure if they are high voltage components. If you touch
them carelessly, there can be serious injury or death from severe burns or electrical shock.
• Always use insulated protective equipment (insulated gloves, protective goggles, and insulated
shoes) when touching or having the possibility of touching exposed parts of the high voltage
cable or high voltage components.

3. Precautions for rescue operations
Caution
• When you operate the power switch while the meter displays are turned off, the
system may start up.
• To avoid restart, the keyless remote controller should be more than 6 meters away
from the car.
Confirm that all the indicators in the meter are turned off
Confirm that all the indicators in the meter are turned off
Caution
• Even when the power switch is turned off, it takes approximately 5 minutes to
discharge the charge stored in capacitor. Take precaution to avoid short circuits
during the operation after cutting off the high voltage.

Warning
• If the orange high voltage cable or the high voltage cover is damaged and exposing the wires or
terminals, NEVER TOUCH the exposed components or wires. Do not touch any of the exposed
wires or terminals if you are unsure if they are high voltage components. If you touch them
carelessly, there can be serious injury or death from severe burns or electrical shock.
• Always use insulated protective equipment (insulated gloves, protective goggles, and
insulated shoes) when touching or having the possibility of touching exposed parts of the high
voltage cable or high voltage components.
• Do not cut the high voltage area. Exposure of the high voltage area by cutting even after cutting
off the high voltage can result in severe injury or death from severe burns or electrical shock.
• Do not cut the undeployed airbag or undeployed seatbelt pretensioner. Airbags and seatbelt
pretensioners are equipped with a high pressure gas generator, so cutting it can result in severe
injury or death.
• Do not cut the airbags or sensors. Unintended airbag deployment from a short circuit in the
wiring or shock from cutting can lead to secondary hazards during the rescue operation.
However, if all the airbags have been deployed, there are no problems.
• The airbag system retains its function for 3 minutes after the power switch is turned off or after
disconnection from the 12V battery, so make sure that the cutting operation is performed after
at least 3 minutes. However, if all the airbags have been deployed, there are no problems.
• There is a risk of serious injury due to ignition by sparks. For cutting, use a device that does not
generate sparks, such as a hydraulic cutter.

3. Precautions for rescue operations
Adjust the front seat position as required to ensure space in the same manner.
Push down the lever and adjust the position vertically / front and back.
14
3. Precautions for rescue operations
If touching high-voltage cables and other high-voltage components is unavoidable, personal protective
equipment (insulating gloves, goggles and boots) should always be used.
1. Extinguish the fire using a large volume of water such as from a fire hydrant, well water, or pond water.
If water is not available, an ABC powder fire extinguisher may be used as an alternative.
2. If it is safe to do so, open the passenger’s side right rear door and direct water from the right side into
the high-voltage battery cooling inlet duct.
Cooling Duct
Water
3. Continue extinguishing until the complete suppression of fire and it smoke is observed from the battery.
4. Once signs of active fire have completely subsided (e.g. no visible smoking), a thermal camera should
be used to evaluate and monitor the temperature of the battery unit.
NOTE: The battery temperature should continue to be monitored. If the battery temperature
begins to increase, a possibility for re-ignition exists and additional water or a fire extinguisher
should be used to mitigate re-ignition.
Warning
• DO NOT attempt to open the battery cover at this time.
• Never use seawater or any water containing salt.
• Always assume the high voltage battery contains stranded energy and a possibility for
re-ignition exists.

4. Procedure for transporting the breakdown/accidental vehicle
■ Towing procedure
Improper towing preparation will damage the transmission. Follow the below procedure exactly.
Trying to lift or tow the vehicle by the bumpers will cause serious damage. The bumpers are not designed
to support the vehicle's weight. It is best to tow the vehicle no farther than 80 km and keep the vehicle
speeds below 55 km/h except when loading on a flat-bed tow truck.
NOTICE
• If the 12 volt battery is discharged, the ACCESSORY mode cannot be selected by pushing the
engine start/stop button. Charge or replace the 12 volt battery to unlock the steering wheel
before towing.
• If the ACCESSORY mode cannot be selected because of in an electrical problem other than a
discharged 12 volt battery, the flat-bed tow truck is the only way to transport the vehicle.
• If the 12 volt battery is discharged, the electric parking brake cannot be canceled by pushing
the electric parking brake/automatic brake hold switch. Charge or replace the 12 volt battery
to release the parking brake before towing.
• If the electrical parking brake is disabled in an electrical problem or severe vehicle damage,
the vehicle must be transported on a flat-bed tow truck.
• If the transmission cannot shift from the P position/mode to the N position/mode because of
an electrical problem or severe vehicle damage, shift to the N position/mode manually, and
transport the vehicle by a flat-bed tow truck. Refer page number 17 for "How to Release Park
