1.0 MATERIALS
1.1 Use of SIRIM or above approved type materials.

1.2 Materials meeting the specification and no any defect


(deform, dent, rust, crack).

2.0 DESIGN & PLANNING
2.1 Design is certified structurally safe by Professional
Engineer (PE) (Design Calculation).
BOWEC Reg. 28(1).
2.2 Design specification shows the position of shores,
braces and other supports.
BOWEC Reg. 28(1).
2.3 Provision of information and instruction (HIRARC,
method statement, SOP).
OSHA Sec. 15.(2)(c).

2.4 Provision of training and supervision to falsework/


formwork erector.
OSHA Sec. 15.(2)(c).
3.0 ERECTION
3.1 Erection of falsework/ formwork in accordance to
design.
OSHA Sec. 24(1); BOWEC Reg. 4(5).
3.2 Foundations and floors shall be of sufficient strength.
FMA Sec. 10(a).

3.3 Proper supervision during the erection of falsework/


formwork, braces and shores.
BOWEC Reg. 29(1).

3.4 Sole plate shall be use whenever falsework is erected


on ground foundation.
BOWEC Reg. 30(2).

3.5 Base plates properly fixed to legs or ‘U’ head fixed to


head. Secure and nailed to timber.
BOWEC Reg. 30(1)

3.6 Height of adjustable base plate shall not more than 3/4
of overall height.
MS1462-1:2012, Figure 4.

3.7 Standard/ props stand vertically


BOWEC Reg. 76(1)(a).

4.0 OTHERS
4.1 Identify and inform of any unsafe act/ condition during
inspection if any.

4.2 Keep a proper record of inspection at site.
