A LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 7 ENGLISH

June 7, 2024

I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of 60 min. class, the Grade 7 students are expected to be able to:
1. Define adverbs and different types of adverb (time, place, manner);
2. construct a sentence using different types of adverbs;
3. demonstrate an appreciation of Adverbs through role-playing

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


Topic: Adverb and Types of Adverbs

Instructional Strategies: Collaborative Strategy and QAR Strategy
Instructional Materials:
 Whiteboard and markers
 Printed examples of different types of Adverbs
 Blank sheet of paper

III. PROCEDURE:
A. ACTIVITY
GUEST ME: Divide the class into 4 groups, and give each group an envelope that
contains printed examples of Adverbs. For the group 1 , inside the envelope contains
scrambled letters of the word ADVERB, they will be working on arranging the letters .For
the rest of the group 2 , 3 and 4 they will be working on identifying what the pictures
describe. For examples the image of clock describes time, underground describes place and
eagerly describes manner.
1. Group 1: ADVERB
2. Group 2: TIME
3. Group 3: PLACE
4. Group 4: MANNER
B. ANALYSIS
Ask students to identify adverbs and types of adverbs by asking the following questions:
For group 1 ,what word did you find after arranging the scrambled letters?
How about group 2, what do you think the pictures describe?
Group 3, what word do pictures describe?
And last group 4, what word do you think the image describes?

While this questions are raised, students will collaboratively share their observations based
on their answers

Based on this activity can you already identify the different types of Adverbs?

C. ABSTRACTION
Present other examples of types of adverbs in a sentence and give the following instructions :
Ask students to go to the board and underline the adverb
Encourage other students to identify which type of adverbs does the underlined word.

 Adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb in the
sentence.
 It also answers the question how, when and where
 Adverb of time is a word that describes or modifies WHEN an action occurs
 Adverb of Place It is the word that answers ‘WHERE’ the actions occur
 Adverb of Manner it answers the question HOW

D. APPLICATION
Divide the class into 3 groups ,instruct the class to make a role-playing that shows an
appreciation of the importance of using different types of Adverbs in daily life.

IV. Evaluation
Identify each kind of adverb in the sentence. Write on your answer sheet if the underlined is
ADVERB OF MANNER, ADVERB OF TIME OR ADVERB OF PLACE.

V. Assignment
Construct a list of your daily routine using different types of Adverbs.
