NARRATIVE REPORT FOR THE NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP (NLC) 2023-2024
In support of MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and in partnership of
with National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP),I handling the Intervention
Camp numeracy and literacy during the conduct of National Learning Camp
(NLC) held throughout 2023-2024 End of School break. The following report
outlines the program’s execution from July 1, 2024 to July 19, 2024 with
consisting 10 pupils
Week 1: Foundation & Engagement
Day 1-3 (Face-to-Face):
We focused on rapport building, diagnostic assessments, and creating
personalized learning pathways for each learners. As we evaluated the
results and compared their General Weighted Average, we diveded the
pupils into 3 camps and I handle 10 pupils in Intervention Cap
We used interactive games and fun discussions based on their specific
needs for them to develop more. We also built Tinadahan ng Karunungan at
Kagandahang Asal as positive reinforcement for the pupils. Every
achievement and every good behavior shown has a corresponding star. That
star served as a money to buy the store merchandise.
Day 4-5 Face-to-Face LAC sessions:
Teachers collaborated to share insights about pupils' strengths and
challenges. We brainstormed activity ideas and best practices for teaching
literacy, numeracy for the lower grades and English, Science and Math for
the higher grades.
Week 2: Immersion & Skill-Building
Day 1-3 (Face-to-Face):
Literacy and Numeracy were interspersed with engaging, Larong
Pinoy-style activities. For instance, pupils played the so called “Sudsud”
game in Literacy wherein there were consonant and vowel letters written on
the floor. As they skipped they sounded the letter and blended them
together to make a syllable and into a word. In numeracy we played
“Dakpanay” wherein the “abal” caught his opponents. The moment they
were trapped, they answered the addition sentence. If they were right, it was
their turn to catch.
Day 4-5 Face-to-Face LAC sessions:
This week's collaborative sessions allowed teachers to reflect upon the
efficacy of the previous week's activities, share pupils’ feedback, and modify
teaching strategies as required.
Week 3: Consolidation & Celebration
Day 1-3 (Face-to-Face):
Learners presented significant improvements. The culmination was a
celebratory "Camp Day" filled with group activities, reflecting socio-
emotional growth and character development. And that was the day they
used their stars to receive their rewards.
Day 4-5 Face-to-Face LAC sessions
A comprehensive review of the camp's impact and a brainstorming
session for the upcoming weeks took place. Feedback from students was
collated and will be integrated into future NLC iterations.
In line with the National Learning Camp's vision, the three weeks were
a testament to the camp's potential. Learners honed their academic skills
and developed holistically, demonstrating personal growth and enhanced
socio-emotional skills.
I'm sincerely thankful for the vacation service credits, certificate of
recognition, and other incentives provided by DepEd in appreciation of our
extended service. It has been a rewarding experience contributing to the
success of this year's National Learning Camp, and I look forward to more
collaborative endeavors with fellow educators and stakeholders in the future.
