OHS General Induction for Construction NSW

TAFE NSW - New England Institute is approved by WorkCover NSW for General Induction Training. This course provides the basic OHS knowledge required to undertake work within the Construction Industry. The course aims to provide persons who are about to commence a career in the Construction Industry, or those who have been away from the industry for two years, with the knowledge and attitude of basic principles of health, safety and welfare in the construction industry in NSW. It provides participants with information about preventing workplace injury and illness, injury management and workers compensation in NSW. The course is aligned to the unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the Construction Industry and relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work. Learners who successfully complete the course will achieve the WorkCover NSW White Card. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: It is extremely important that participants provide original documents of identity that add up to 100 points. A detailed list of the POI requirements will be made available to the participant upon registration into the course. Participants are required to produce evidence of having a NSW residential address. MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: Participants must be at least 14 years of age to undertake this course. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The former NSW construction induction cards (issued between 29 March 2004 - August 2009) are recognised in all jurisdictions other than Western Australia. The NSW construction induction cards (issued from 1 September 2009) are recognised throughout Australia. If a VERBAL Assessment is required this must be specified at the time of registration. Verbal assessments will incur an additional hourly charge of $80.00 per hour.
