Divine Mercy Sunday
Divine Mercy Sunday was instituted by Pope Saint John Paul II following instructions given by our Lord to
Saint Faustina. Really amazing promises for this day. The Feast of Divine Mercy is like our baptism day -
all our sin can be totally wiped away. As the wonderful Sister Gaudia says "Divine Mercy Sunday - a

I thought I would share the following with you:
Conditions to receive the plenary indulgence
1. Firstly the regular requirements for a plenary indulgence:
sacramental confession (within 20 days)
Eucharistic Communion
prayer for the intentions of the Pope
2. The specific conditions: On Divine Mercy Sunday:
in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin,
even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honor of Divine Mercy
or, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite
the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g.
“Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!”).”
Here is what Saint Faustina said:
On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My Inconceivable
mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for
poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean
of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to
Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no
soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no
mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that
exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to
Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My
very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after
Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy. (Diary 699)
I want to grant a complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy
Communion on the Feast of My Mercy (1109)

I just feel that each year Divine Mercy Sunday is more significant with the rapidly collapsing morality and

You will prepare the world for My final coming. (Diary 429)
Speak to the world about My mercy ... It is a sign for the end times. After it will come the Day of
Justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fountain of My mercy. (Diary 848)
Tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near.
