JOB DESCRIPTION
LIVERPOOL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION
TRUST
The Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Aintree University Hospital merged 2
years ago to form Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger of the original two hospitals has produced one of the largest acute
teaching Trusts within the North West. Most medical and surgical specialities are
represented within the Trust and many departments offer a service for tertiary
referrals from both within and outside the Mersey region.
There are close links with the University of Liverpool and the Clinical Academic
departments of the Faculty of Medicine that are situated within the Trust. The main
University campus is immediately adjacent to the Royal Liverpool Hospital site.
A major new hospital build is currently under construction on the RLUH site due to
complete in 2022 and is adjacent to the relocated Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology
and a commercial Bioscience Accelerator building. These new build developments
will form the heart of a centralised teaching hospital biocampus within the city’s
knowledge quarter
