1 OVERVIEW

● 1.1 INTRODUCTION

City of Ekurhuleni (COE) has a mandate to promote the Smart City concept for
transformation, growth, development and ensure that all Ekurhuleni’s citizens derive
sustainable benefit from technology development. The Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) department has a responsibility to ensure that ICT goals are aligned to
and support the City’s mission and strategic objectives of becoming and Smart, Creative and
Developmental City, and that optimum business value is realized from ICT related
investment services and assets. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is one of
the key strategic enabling department within the City. It uses and leverage on the
implementation of technology to enable the City to deliver services effectively and efficiently.

2 GENERAL SYSTEM INFORMATION

Recruitment, Sourcing and Selection is a capability of the Human Capital Management


Department to Source, Assess, and Hire best talent for different Departments/ Divisions/
Sections within the CoE Municipality.

It consist if the career section allows candidates to visit corporate websites, search for
and apply for jobs, these career sections will be used for both external and internal
candidates. CoE will create different Career Sections to meet their unique hiring
processes and needs.

Once candidates have applied for jobs, the Recruiting Center will be used by users in a
full or partial recruiting role, including Recruiters, HR, Staffing Managers, Support Staff
and Hiring Managers. The Recruiting Center provides requisition management to track
and manage job openings, candidate screening to improve the quality of hires,
candidate submission tracking to track candidate progress through the recruiting
process, interview management, evaluation management, assessments and offer
management.

The Onboarding (Transitions) process will be a unified, automated process for


transitioning candidates, new hires and employees.

9 REGISTER A USER ACCOUNT

After completing this sub-section, you will be able to successfully register a profile

The process begins when you as the candidate, opens the Google chrome web
browser and inputs the following link in the browser search pane;
http://10.2.2.154:8080/eRecruitment, where you will be navigated to the City of
Ekurhuleni REMS landing page.

Only Candidates between the ages of 16 and 66 will be allowed to register on the
system

10 LOGIN TO USER PROFILE

11 FORGOT PASSWORD

After completing this sub-section, you will be able to reset your password, if you
have forgotten it.

Users should have an internet browser and internet to access the CoE REMS
system.

Follow the steps to reset your password in order to login.

 A notification will display informing you that the password reset request
has been sent via email

to reset your password

New passwords are required to be a minimum of 6 characters in length.

 Input the same password under Enter Password Again

 Click on the Reset button

 A notification will display that your password has been changed.

 Click on the Back To Login button.

 You will be nagivated to the Login page, whereby you can access the
system.

The Candidate is required to build their CV and upload relevant documents in


order to apply for a posted job position
