One of the most significant turning points in Philippine history is the declaration of
independence. Many nations spent hundreds of years colonizing the country. After all the

constitution and gives us idea what happened on the day of declaration.
Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista is the one who wrote the declaration of independence and
read it in Spanish. He was also known as “Don Bosyong”. He studied Law at University of Sto.
Tomas in Espana, Manila. He was from Binan, Laguna. He died on the 4th day of December
1903.
Emilio Aguinaldo who wrote the First Philippine Republic. He was a Filipino
revolutionary, statesman, and military leader who is the youngest president of the Philippines
(1899–1901) and is recognized as the first president of the Philippines and of an Asian
constitutional republic. He led Philippine forces first against Spain in the Philippine Revolution
(1896–1898), then in the Spanish American War (1898), and finally against the United States
during the Philippine–American War (1899–1901).
Felipe Calderón y Roca and Felipe Buencamino is the person who wrote the First
Philippine Republic. Felipe Buencamino is a was an infamous Filipino turncoat, lawyer,
diplomat, and politician. He fought alongside the Spaniards in the Philippine Revolution but later
switched sides and joined Emilio Aguinaldo's revolutionary cabinet. He was a member of the
Malolos Congress and co-authored the Malolos Constitution. He was also appointed as
Secretary of Foreign Relations in the cabinet of Aguinaldo. After he left the revolutionary
government, he co-founded the Federal Party and became a founding member of the Philippine
Independent Church. Felipe Calderón y Roca also known as Felipe G. Calderon (April 4, 1868 –
June 6, 1908) was a Filipino lawyer, politician, and intellectual, known as the "Father of the
Malolos Constitution".
The First Philippine Republic was inaugurated in Malolos, Bulacan when Emilio
Aguinaldo proclaimed as the president and established the Dictatorial Government. The First
Philippine Republic, which existed from 1899 to 1901, created and enacted the Malolos
Constitution in 1899, making it the first republican constitution in Asia. The Philippines was ruled
by American law when it was under American occupation.
Its contribution to understand the Philippine history is that until now, we can say that only
Ferdinand Marcos was the only dictator that lives and take the leadership in the Philippines. We
know how hard the Filipinos in that time. The Malolos Constitution was the constitution in the
First Philippine Republic. It shows how the constitution starts in this country.
