3. Explain the minimum 5 types of drugs and their function.
4. 4. collaboration

Answer

1. Bone definition: Bone is a rigid body tissue consisting of cells embedded in an

abundant hard intercellular material.
There are two principal components of this material, collagen, and calcium
phosphate.
The functions of bone include:
a. Giving a body a firm shape and as a support for your muscle to move.
b. Protection of soft and vital organs such as brain, heart, and lungs.
c. Providing a special place such as blood-forming system (bone marrow)
d. Mineral reservoir for mineral inside your body calcium and phosphate
circulation for your body.
Bone can only be found in vertebrates, such as mammals, Reptiles, and fishes

What causes broken bone:

A broken bone or commonly known as fractures, is often caused by falls, injury,
because of a direct hit or kicks to the body. Symptoms include sudden pain,
swelling, and trouble using or moving the injured area.

Types of fractures
There are 2 types of fracture, Open fractur or compound fracture, and closed
fracture also known as a simple fracture.
Open fracture is condition where the bone pokes through the skin and can be
seen while the closed fracture is a condition where the bone is broken, but the
skin is intact.

3 broken parts of bones

Every bone inside of your body can be broken. The fracture is named after the
injured type of bone or by the region of the bone. With that being said, if you
broke your skull, then it is called a skull fracture. But in some cases, the broken
bone can be named in a unique way. For example, if you broke the bone that
connects your pinkie finger to your wrist then it’ll a boxer’s fracture, since it was a
fracture that happened mostly to boxers.
Other examples of broken bone parts would be:
a) Elbow fractures: Elbow fractures is a fracture at the hip of the elbow. This
can happen because of trauma such as a direct hit, falling on the elbow, or
falling on an outstretched hand.

b) Ancle fracture: Ancle fracture is a break on one or more of the bones that
make up ankle joint. Ancle fracture may result from excessive stress on the
joint such as from rolling an ankle or from trauma.

c) Wrist fracture: The wrist is formed by a group of bones, the edge of 2 bones
on your forearm (radius and ulna) and 8 smaller bones on your hand, also
called carpal bones. The wrist fracture happens when the one of the 2
bones that connects the forearm and the hand is broken. Wrist fracture is
commonly happened when someone falling on their hand.

2. How to heal bones

After breaking a bone, your body isolates the fracture site so that it is protected
and floods the area with the nutrients that help your bones to heal. Although our
body can heal the bone injury by them self, it is important for us to maintain the
healing process and helped the bone heals faster.
The treatment of broken bone is depended on which type it is, what causes it and
how damaged your bones are. However, there are 3 main elements that is needed
in every bone healing process.

A. Alignment of the broken bone fragments: when someone broke their bone,
it is possible that their bone is moving out of place (sometimes even poking
out of their flash). It is important to realign your bone to their normal
position. The Realignment process need to be done by professionals. During
emergency, please keep the surrounding of the injured person safe, and
contact a medical professional as soon as possible or visit the nearest
medical facilities.

B. Stability and support at the fracture site through immobilization: During

emergency, the immobilization can be done by using an item on your
surrounding such as, wooden stick, or even cardboard.
Again, contacting a medical professional or went to the nearest medical
facility is a must.
For the long period of the healing process, you will need a splint of a cast
for a proper immobilization process. Splinting usually lasts for three to five
weeks. If you need a cast, it will likely be for longer, typically six to eight
weeks. In both cases you’ll likely need follow up X-rays to make sure your
bones are healing correctly.

C. Healthy lifestyle choices that promote healing: A healthy diet would help
the healing process better. Consuming food such as vegetables, fruits,
protein and water would help your body heals the broken bone faster. In
particular, calcium, vitamin D and protein will be important during the bone
healing process, so be sure you're focusing on food sources rich in these
nutrients, including dark, leafy greens, broccoli, fish, meat, yogurt, nuts and
seeds.

3. Antibiotics: antibiotics is a type of this medication that used to treat bacterial

infection. The main function of this medication is to kill bacteria that might cause
illness inside human body.

Analgesic: analgesic is a type of medication that commonly known as pain killer.

This medication is used as a pain managements or in other word to get rid of
someone’s pain.

Antihistamine: Antihistamine is used to treat allergies. This medication is aimed to

eliminate allergic reaction.

Anaesthetics: Anaesthetics is commonly used during surgeries. This medication

produces a complete or partial loss of felling. The aim is to make a patient would
not feel any thing during surgery.

Antiviral: Antiviral is a type of medication that used to treat viral or virus infection.
The main function of this medication is to kill virus that might causes illness inside
human body.
