CHAPTER CIRCLES WORKSHEET

CLASS X
LEVEL -1

1. In the given figure, PQ is tangent to the circle centred at O. If  AOB= 95° , then find the measure of ABQ .

2. In the given figure , two circles touch each other at point C. Prove that the common tangent to the circles at C
Bisects the common tangent at P and Q.

3. In the following figure , QS is the diameter and O is the centre . APT is the tangent at P. Find angle APQ.

LEVEL 2
4. The radii of two concentric circles are 13 cm and 8 cm . AB is a diameter of the bigger circle.BD is a tangent to the
smaller circle touching it a t D. Find the length AD.

5. In the given figure, ABC is a right triangle right angled at B such that BC = 6 cm and AB = 8 cm. Find the radius of
its incircle.
6. In the given figure , PQ is a chord of length 8 cm of a circle with centre O with radius 5 cm. If the tangents to the
Circle at the points P and Q intersect at T , then find the length of PT .

7. In given figure below , PQ and PR are tangents to the circle with centre O and S is a point on the circle such that
∠SQL = 50° and ∠SRM = 60° . Find ∠QSR.

LEVEL 3
8. From an external point P , a tangent PT is and line segment PAB is drawn to a circle with centre O. ON is the
perpendicular on the chord AB. Prove that .
i) 𝑃𝐴 ⋅ 𝑃𝐵 = 𝑃𝑁 2 − 𝐴𝑁 2
ii) 𝑃𝑁 2 − 𝐴𝑁 2 = 𝑂𝑃2 − 𝑂𝑇 2
iii) 𝑃𝐴 ⋅ 𝑃𝐵 = 𝑃𝑇 2

9. In the given figure, PO ⊥ QO. The tangents to the circle a P and Q intersect at a point T. Prove that PQ and OT are
right bisectors of each other.
10. In the given figure, there are two concentric circles with centre O such that AP is tangent to the bigger circle and
AB is tangent to the smaller circle. If ∠APB=∠ABP=30° ,OA=3 cm and OP =5 cm, then, find radius of the smaller
Circle.
