Virtual Activity on the
Commemoration of Rizal’s
Martyrdom (Rizal Day 2023)
INTRODUCTION
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No.126, s. 2001titled Declaring
the Month of December of Every Year as Rizal Month, the Department of
Education (DepEd) and the National Historical Commission of the
Philippines (NHCP), in celebration of 127th Anniversary of the Martyrdom
of Dr. Jose P. Rizal a film showing the life of Dr. Jose Rizal was unveil to
all learners and educators. The activity has a theme “Rizal: Pundasyon
ng Kahapon, Isinabuhay Ngayon”.
OBJECTIVES
The celebration aimed to:
a. Celebrate the patriotism, heroism, nationalism, and self- sacrifice of
Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
b. Instill in the hearts and minds of the youth the greatness of the
Filipino race, the legacy, and ideals of Dr. Jose Rizal
ACTIVITIES
As the Araling Panlipunan School Coordinator I was assigned to
facilitate the activity. Perhaps, the said celebration falls on Christmas
vacation, the activity was virtually done.
At exactly 7:00 in the morning the program formally started thru
audio visual presentation, Mrs. Analiza H. Pilac gave the Food for
Thought, followed by checking of attendance of Mrs. Sevilla H.
Endaya, Grade One Teacher, then an opening remark was given by
the school Principal, Mrs. Marcelina M. Hernandez and Dr. Melissa M.
Ariola, the District Supervisor, rendered an inspirational message to
all learners.
Simultaneously, the film showing were unveiled throughout the
district where all learners, parents and educators viewed. Mrs.
Valentina Maricel Casalme gives her impression to the film as well the
life of Dr. Jose Rizal which depicted how he became a hero and what
is the life of being a hero. Mrs. Emmylou B. Holgado shared the
Significant Learning taken from the movie where some learners also
gave their insights from what they have watch.

Conclusion:
Indeed, the activity enlightened to every learner that Rizal’s life has a great impact on every
Filipino, where he showed his passion in writings, and stories. His love for his country is unbeatable that
even his own life he offered it without second thoughts. Truly, a great hero for all times. Today’s
activity is remarkable, historic and wake up call to all youth, as what Rizal said “Ang Kabataan ang Pag
– Asa ng Bayan”.
