A column is a vertical structural component that supports and transfers the load from the roof to the floor,

and unlike walls, it does not

provide weather protection or privacy. Columns are typically as thick as they are wide and strategically placed to manage structural
weight. They can replace walls in designs if they are strong enough to support the load, and they can also be used decoratively even
when not bearing weight.

Tied Column: A reinforced concrete column with vertical rebar held by horizontal ties, used for strong vertical support in various
buildings.

Spiral Column: A reinforced concrete column with vertical rebar enclosed by a continuous steel spiral, providing extra strength for
high-rise structures.

Composite Column: A column combining steel and concrete to enhance strength and durability, commonly used in modern high-rise
buildings.
