INTRODUCTION TO THE PAULINE ARTS
The Celestial Magic referred to frequently by the name The
Pauline Arts, is a very old system.
The purpose of this magic is to contact and work directly with
one’s own angels. These angels are referred to in the system
as “teaching angels” or “birth angels.”
The Pauline Arts are comprised of a large body of magical
teachings based on esoteric interpretations of various holy
scriptures, the purpose of which is to help the practitioner
learn and evolve.
The Pauline Arts became popularized due to the publication
of the "The Ars Paulina," one of five books gathered together
to form the compendium "Lemegeton, Clavicula Salomonis
Rex or the Little Key of Solomon the King"
The Pauline Art is a much greater practice than what was
published in these specific texts, however.
The Pauline Arts is named after the Apostle Paul. It must be
iterated, however, that even given this namesake, the Pauline
Arts are not reserved for Christians. This esoteric path is
open to seekers from any religion, or none.
From the New Testament, we read that Paul the Apostle “was
caught up by an Angel, and ascended as far as the second
and third heaven into paradise itself; and that he beheld
sights and heard unspeakable words which it would not be
possible for man to declare…." (2 Corinthians: 12-2)
3
The words were unspeakable because they were occult.
Occult means hidden.
You can access these hidden, occult words yourself.
The figure of Paul in those Scriptures is simply a symbol for
the sincere seeker who is desiring occult knowledge from the
angels.
This seeker is YOU.
These hidden, ancient secrets can be revealed through the
regular practice of the Angelic Silence, as outlined in this
booklet.
If you find that you enjoy working the Pauline Arts, you can
find much more of its ancient magic in other free booklets,
and also in my free six-month course called Basic Angel
Magic (BAM).
YOUR BIRTH ANGELS
Angel lore states that the angels who attended your birth are
indicated by your natal astrological chart.
You can get your chart cast for free by simply entering “Free
Natal Chart” in any internet search engine.
In order to have your chart cast you will need to know your
birth date, your birthplace, and the time of day you were born.
If you don’t know your birth time, don’t worry. The fix for this
is covered just a little bit later in this booklet.
4
Your birth angels, in descending order of prominence are:
1. The angel who rules your moon sign (your primary birth
angel)
2. The angel who rules your sun sign
3. The angel who rules your ascendant
4. The angel who rules the day of the week of your birth
If you can’t determine your rising and/or your moon sign
because you don’t know your time of birth, simply work with
Raphael.
Like the Greek God Hermes (Messenger of the Gods),
Raphael can stand in for any angel.
You may have angels that fill more than one of the four
positions (moon, sun, rising, and day of the week). This
happens very frequently.
Some of us only have one or two birth angels, while others
have thee or four different ones. It doesn’t matter.
You can, of course, always branch out and work with each
one of the eight teaching angels from this system (including
the ones who aren’t your “official” birth angels).
Please note that the Angelic Silence is not meant to be
worked with just “any” angel. It is meant to be worked using
only the eight teaching angels given in this booklet.
Substitutions are not recommended.
To find out even more ways to work with each Teaching
Angels, please take my free course, Basic Angel Magic (BAM)

Zodiacal Signs Ruled By Each Birth Angel
Aries - Samael Libra - Anael
Taurus - Anael Scorpio - Samael
Gemini - Raphael Sagittarius - Sachiel
Cancer - Gabriel Capricorn - Cassiel
Leo - Michael Aquarius - Uriel
Virgo - Raphael Pisces - Sachel
TIMING
Each angel has a day of the week that is sacred to them.
You don’t need to limit working with any angel to only its
sacred day, however.
Yet, every Angel, except Raphael, has one or more days of
the week they are not compatible with.
Work with an angel on any day except the days with which
they are not compatible.
The Angelic Silence may be worked during any phase of the
moon, except that it is not meant to be performed during the
times of the dark moon, nor during any kind of eclipse.
Planetary hours that we use in other practices within the
Pauline Arts don’t make a difference in the Angelic Silence,
and can therefore be ignored.
While you may aways work with any of the eight teaching
angels, it is your lunar birth angel with whom it is wise to
6
spend the bulk of your time.
Your solar birth angel is second in importance, followed by
the angel of your ascendent, then the angel sacred to the day
of the week of your birth.

HOW TO WORK THE ANGELIC SILENCE
Work frequently with your lunar birth angel. On days that are
not compatible with your lunar angel, work with your solar
angel. If both your solar and lunar angels are not compatible
with a particular day, work with the angel of your ascendent.
Next try the angel of the day of the week of your birth.
If there is a day of the week that all your birth angels are
incompatible with, work with whichever angel rules that day,
or simply take that day off.
The angelic silence is best done in a comfortable chair where
you can sit with your spine straight, your feet flat on the floor,
and your palms resting comfortably on your knees. This is an
ancient magical posture, and it tends to be the most effective.
The Four Steps to the Angelic Silence:
1. Ground & Center
This is simply calming the body and focussing the mind.
A simple method is to close your eyes and relax. Breathe
deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth
several times. Feel the support of the floor beneath your
feet.
Other methods of grounding and centering may be found
in our course called, A Witch’s Primer;
9
2. Verbally call your angel by name, and ask them to let their
presence be known to you.
For example, “Archangel Uriel, Please be with me in my
silence and allow your presence to be known to me”
3. With your eyes closed, begin to mentally repeat the
Hebrew God Name associated with the angel you are
working with.
Any time you notice your mind wandering, gently bring it
back to the silent repetition of the God Name.
4. Relax your body and mind, and allow the angel to have
the right of way.
During the Angelic Silence, be receptive.
This operation is not one where you bring requests or
problems to your angel. You are here strictly as a student.
It is their curriculum, not yours that occurs in the Silence.
You come with no agenda. Let the Angels run the
experience completely.
You may get information, visions, or simply a lovely
feeling. You may feel you get nothing.
Often what you think you “get” is of little importance.
There is no right or wrong result in the Angelic Silence.
The results are not for us to judge.
Trust that the angels know what they are doing to help
you in the very best ways possible and at all times.

TIPS FOR PRACTICE
I recommend that you time your meditations. Use a timer
with an alarm that’s not too jarring. Start with one minute
of Angelic Silence. Add one minute to your practice over
time until you reach 20 minutes. Aim for building your
practice to twenty minutes, twice per day.
Please don’t use this or any other magical practice as a
tool to make yourself feel guilty or pressured. If you fall off
your meditation practice, just gently get back on it again
starting with one minute per day, and build it back up.
Don’t nag yourself about it, just get your practice going.
Angels only bring love. The Angelic Silence will bring you
great power and peace. Remember that love purifies
everything that is not like itself. Working at this level of
angelic energy requires that we gradually let go of many
things that are not good for us. The angels are capable of
finding and removing those things for us painlessly, but
we must ask them to do so. Angels are very eager to help
us
Remember, that no matter what you think you are
experiencing during the Silence, your only job is to relax
and gently bring your attention back to the God Name you
are silently repeating.

THOUGHTS ON THE ANGELIC SILENCE
Magic works by giving us OPPORTUNITIES that may have
never been available to us. WE are the bodies and minds
through which these opportunities are then realized.
Outside the Silence, in our daily lives, we ask, over and
over again, to be guided and led each step of the way by
our Angels.
We take each circumstance which is in front of us and ask
that we respond to it with poise, grace and dignity;
We ask to be led through our moment-by-moment
experiences into even greater and more glorious and
magical encounters day-by-day.
We make fewer and fewer decisions alone, and learn to
bring all our decisions to our angels.
We learn to trust in the effectiveness of our Art, because
we see it working before our very eyes—each and every
moment.
We look with wonder and amazement as our lives begin
to unfold in ways we never thought imaginable.
We charm our lives each and every day through our
Angelic Silence. Out of this practice is cast a perpetual
circle of celestial power and protection around us that
grows over time.
12
We learn to make peace our primary goal; everything that
is born from peace, containing everything that we want.
We begin to receive the blessings we have been denying
ourselves our entire lives.
We allow our angels to gently undo that which is not for
our good, by simply sitting in their frequencies regularly.
We insist and expect only the very best in life, and notice
as the best comes to us.
We carry the rich glow of Infinite Spirit who works through
us, and shines all about us, guiding our way and blessing
all that we encounter.
Angels tend to laugh. We laugh with the angels and tune
to their beam.
Working with our birth angels allows them to “ray” their
angelic frequencies into us. This helps us become less
affected by any planetary transits;
We gradually rise above all the restrictions that are
represented by our natal charts.
One could do no more than this single practice over time
and become magically adept.
The necessary ingredients for successfully practicing
Angelic magic are a pure heart, the desire to learn the Art,
and a sincere commitment to do one’s very best.
