Assignment Name:
a) While driving a pile, the cushion was felt to be too stiff. A cushion with less
stiffness was put in place. What would its effect be on the amplitude, decay
and frequency of the driving force on pile head?
b) Calculate natural frequency of a 10 storied building frame with 3m storey
height. Assume that the wave length is 4 times the total building height. Mass
in each floor is 2500 ton-s2/m and total flexural rigidity in each floor is 40
ton-m2.
