PRE-COMMISSIONING
ACTIVITIES
❑Site Preparation
❑Documentation Review
SITE PREPARATION
1.Review the Project Plan: Understand the scope, schedule, and requirements for pre-commissioning.
2.Site Clearance: Ensure that the site is cleared of any debris, obstructions, or hazardous materials that could interfere with pre-
commissioning activities.
3.Utilities Check: Verify the availability and functionality of essential utilities such as electricity, water, and fuel required for pre-
commissioning activities.
4.Environmental Considerations: Assess and mitigate any potential environmental impacts of pre-commissioning activities, such as the
handling of chemicals or waste disposal.
. Access and Logistics: Ensure that there is sufficient access to the site for personnel, equipment, and materials. Coordinate logistics for
transportation, storage, and handling of equipment and supplies.
5.Personnel Training: Provide training to personnel involved in pre-commissioning activities on safety procedures, equipment operation, and
specific tasks they will be performing.
6. Communication Plan: Establish a communication plan to ensure effective coordination and collaboration among all stakeholders involved
in pre-commissioning activities.
7. Contingency Planning: Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges or emergencies that may arise during pre-
commissioning activities.
8.Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that pre-commissioning activities are performed according to
established standards and procedures.
INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION OF EQUIPMENTS
1. Documentation Review:
- Review all documentation related to the electrical equipment, including manuals, specifications, drawings, and commissioning
procedures.
- Verify that the equipment meets all design and safety standards required for its intended use.
2. Visual Inspection:
- Inspect the physical condition of the equipment, checking for any signs of damage, corrosion, or defects.
- Ensure that the equipment is installed according to the manufacturer's specifications and engineering drawings.
3. Safety Checks:
- Verify that all safety devices, such as circuit breakers, fuses, and grounding systems, are installed and functioning properly.
- Ensure that appropriate warning signs and labels are in place, and that proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and used
as required.
4. Electrical Connections:
- Inspect all electrical connections for tightness and proper termination.
- Check for proper sizing of conductors and compatibility of materials.
