SECTION IV FIRST AID MEASURES

P.T.O.

1
FIRST AID MEASURES FOR Inhalation:Not expected via this path. In case of
DIFFERENT EXPOSURES inhalation, remove to fresh air. Get medical
attention if ill effects persist.
Skin Contact:Immediately remove product from skin
with dry cloth or towel, and wash exposed area
withsoap or waterless cleanser. Get medical
attention if irritation or other ill effects develop
or persist.
Eye Contact:Immediately flush eyes with plenty of
water for at least 15 minutes and promptly
get medical attention.
Ingestion:Get medical attention. Do not induce
vomiting unless directed to do so by
medical personnel.
Signs and Symptoms of May cause skin and eye irritation. May cause allergic skin
Overexposure reaction.

 Respiratory protection: No respiratory protection

Personal protection for first aid should be needed
and rescue personnel  Eye protection: Use safety glasses
 Hand protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves

Note to physicians: Treat symptomatically.

SECTION V Fire Fighting Measures

Extinguishing Media Water spray, foam, dry chemical, or carbon dioxide.
Special Hazards None
Special Fire Fighting Procedures According to local emergency plan, determine the need to
evacuate or isolate the area. Use water spray to cool fire-exposed
containers
Protective Equipment for Fire Wear positive pressure self–contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
Fighters and full protective equipment.

SECTION VI Accidental Release Measures

Personal Precautions Avoid eye and skin contact. Do not take internally. Keep out
people who do not wear protective equipment until the whole
contaminated area is cleaned. Refer to Section 8 for Exposure
controls / personal protection and Section 7 for Handling and
storage
Environment Precautions Keep out of sewers, storm drains, surface water, and rivers by
using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers.
Cleanup According to local emergency plan, determine the need to
evacuate or isolate the area. Follow all personal protective
equipment recommendations described in this MSDS. Scrape up
and wipe with suitable materials, (i.e., earth, absorbent paper,
and rag), and place in appropriate containers. Laws and
regulations may apply to releases and disposal of this material, as
well as those materials and items employed in the cleanup of
releases. Users should determine which laws and regulations are

2
applicable.

SECTION VII Handling and Storage

Handling Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid contact
with eyes. Avoid contact with skin and clothing. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Avoid use of electric band heaters.
Failures of electric band heaters have been reported to cause
drums of liquid epoxy resin to explode and catch fire.
Application of a direct flame to a container of liquid epoxy resin
can also cause explosion and/or fire.
Storage Keep container closed. Keep away from water, moisture, heat
and oxidizing materials. Low temperature store at <25oC.

SECTION VIII Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

Engineering Controls:Mechanical (general):Recommended. Local
Exhaust:Recommended.
(Control Parameters):
HAZ. INGREDIENTS CAS NO. EXPOSURE LIMITS
EPOXY RESIN 25068-38-6 NOT APPLICABLE
ADDITIVE - NOT APPLICABLE
Biological Exposure Indices (BEIs): -

Personal Protective Equipment  Respiratory Protection:No respiratory protection

should be needed
 Hand Protection: Wear protective gloves
 Eye / Face Protection:Wear safety glasses
 Skin Protection: Use protective clothing chemically
resistant to this material. Selection of specific items
such as face shield, boots, apron, or full body suit will
depend on the task. Remove contaminated clothing
immediately, wash skin area with soap and water, and
launder clothing before reuse or dispose of properly.
Items which cannot be decontaminated, such as shoes,
belts and watchbands, should be removed and disposed
of properly.)
 Additional Protective measures: Shower and eye rinse
apparatus should be needed at work place, and workers
should be trained to use it correctly.

Hygiene Measures Exercise good industrial hygiene practice. Wash after handling,
especially before eating, drinking or smoking. Keep a clean
work place.
