Room temperature shall be maintained at not less than 4°C during

application of gypsum board except when bonding of adhesive is used. For


bonding of adhesive, joint treatment, texturing, and decoration, the room
temperature shall be maintained not less than 10°C for 48 hours prior to
application and continously until completely dry. (2003 IBC, Sec. 2508.1 &
ASTM C840-08 Sec. 4.1)

When a temporary heat source is used, the temperature shall not exceed
35°C in any given room area.(2003 IBC, Sec. 2508.1 & ASTM C840-08
Sec. 4.1.1)

Gypsum wallboard, type X (Special Fire Resistant) shall be used in all


fireproofing applications; 15.9mm (5/8") for 1 hour fire ratings and 12.7mm
(1/2") for 3/4 hour ratings. (2003 IBC, Sec. 2506.2; ASTM C36-03, Sec.
4.3)

Metal lath runners and furring shall not be less than 19.1mm (3/4") in least
dimension. (2003 IBC, Sec. 2508.1; ASTM C-841-08, Table 3)

Inverted, loose laid, ballasted single ply roofs; fully adhered single ply
membrane roofs and loose laid, ballasted single ply roof systems shall
have a slope of less than ½ inch (13mm) vertical to 12 inches (305 mm)
horizontal.

Installation of fully adhered EPDM sheets over the entire area shall have a
minimum thickness of 1.52mm (0.060") thk.

Ballasted roofs shall have a minimum of 19 mm (¾") washed gravel placed


to a minimum thickness of 50 mm (2").
All completed flat roofs shall be subjected to a flood test for a period of no
less than 24 hours. Roof flood tests shall be carried out in a manner
acceptable to the Company Representative and the Saudi Aramco
Inspection Department Representative (or as per SATR M-1014).
Thickness of Water of Leak Test is 25 to 100 mm.

First grade tile shall meet the requirement of no surface defects when
viewed at 3 feet; Second grade shall meet the requirement viewed from 10
feet. (ANSI A137.1 Sec. 9.2.2)

For ceramic tiles, Maximum variation from required plane surfaces shall be
6mm in 3m for subfloors, wall and ceiling surfaces. (ANSI A108.1A-3.1.4.1
& 2)

Door to resident sleeping units shall have a clear width of not less than 711
mm. (2003 IBC, Sec. 408.3.1)

Exterior door openings in dwelling units and sleeping units shall not be less
than 1,930 mm. in height. (2003 IBC, Sec. 1008.1.1)

Means of egress doors shall provide a clear width of not less than 813 mm.
The maximum width of swinging door leaf shall be 1,219 mm. nominal.
The height of doors shall not be less than 2,032 mm. (2003 IBC, Sec.
1008.1.1)

Glazing in fire window assemblies shall be fire-protection-rated. (2003 IBC,


Sec. 715.4)

Fire-protection-rated glazing used in fire window assemblies located in fire


partitions and fire barriers shall be limited to use in assemblies with a
maximum fire resistance rating of 1 hour. (2003 IBC, Sec. 715.4.7)
Windows between fabrication areas and exit access corridors are permitted
to be fixed glazing listed and labeled for a fire protection rating of at least
0.75 hour. (2003 IBC, Sec. 415.9.2.2)

Wire hangers for suspended carrying channels or main runners from an


existing structure shall be minimum 12 gage (2.70mm) galvanized, soft-
annealed, mild steel wire.(2003 IBC, Sec. 803.9.1.1 / ASTM C 636, Sec.
2.1.6)

Intersecting webs and flanges of structural members ("I", "T", or "Z"


sections) shall form angles between them of 90±2°. (2003 IBC, Sec.
803.9.1.1 / ASTM C 635, Sec. 5.1.5.1)

Hangers for carrying channels or main runners are spaced 4 ft. (1200 mm)
on centers. (2003 IBC, Sec. 803.9.1.1 / ASTM C 636, Sec. 2.1.3)

Pedestal floors shall provide a minimum of 610mm (0.61meter) clearance


between finished floor surface and the subfloor.
