Imagine you are in the Hyde Park at the Speakers’ Corner, in London, England. Read the information
in the tip box below. Then complete the speech that follows.

Imitate Martin Luther King‘s speech making the best use of the auxiliaries you have learnt in this unit.

You the ideas you have got from the previous pictures and the comments on them to complete the
following speech:

Preamble:

Ladies and gentlemen, we all know that racism is not the only issue people suffer from. There are
other issues such as hunger, diseases, wars and illiteracy.

Body of the speech:

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a dream that children all over the world will be able to get enough
food especially in African countries. Children are really struggling to survive and everyday they die
because of hunger. Some countries are throwing leftovers whereas in others children are starving. Is
that fair! Is that human! Of course it is not. I have a dream that children who are suffering from
dangerous diseases can get free health care. Are not they our future generation!? Let‘s help them to
recover by building big hospitals and providing them free medical treatment. Martin Luther King was
able to make a change. He was able to combat racism and so we can do the same. I have a dream
that all children, regardless their race and their social level, can go to school to study and to learn
freely. They are our future, they are our hope. I have a dream that parents would stop sending their
kids to work in the fields of agriculture, mining, and industry. It is illegal to exploit children and oblige
them to do jobs beyond their age . It is their right to play, to have fun, to smile. I hope they can live in
peace within their families and in their countries. No wars, no blood, no weapons, no tears. Are they
difficult to be realized?!!

Conclusion:

Thank you very much for your kind attention, ladies and gentlemen. Please sign the petition
entitled “DOWN WITH CHILDREN’S RIGHTS VIOLATION “which is being circulated by my classmates.
