Information Systems:
- The six parts of the information system:
1- people 2- Procedures 3- Software 4- Hardware 5- Data 6- Internet

1- People: ‫األشخاص‬
- Direct: such as creating documents using a word processing or when connecting to
the internet. ‫ مثل إنشاء المستندات باستخدام برنامج معالجة النصوص عند االتصال باألنترنت‬:‫إما أن تكون مباشرة‬
- Indirect: such as using computers in medicine, entertainment, education, and
business.‫ مثل استخدام أجهزة الكمبيوتر في الطب والترفيه والتعليم واألعمال‬:‫أو غير مباشرة‬
2- Procedures: ‫اإلجراءات‬
- The rules or guidelines for people to follow when using software, hardware, and
data are procedures and it is usually documented by computer specialists.

3- Software: ‫نظام التشغيل‬

- Program: are instructions that tell the computers how to do its work. ‫هي إرشادات تخبر‬

- The purpose of software is to convert data (unprocessed facts) into information
(processed facts).
- There are two major kinds of software:‫هناك نوعان رئيسيان من البرامج‬
▪ Application Software ‫التطبيقات‬
▪ System software ‫برنامج النظام‬
• Application Software: is a kind of programs you use; for example: Word
processors. ‫ نوع من البرامج التي نستخدمها‬.‫مثل برنامج معالجة النصوص‬
• System software: is a kind of programs the computer uses; for example:
Operating Systems ‫نوع من البرامج التي يستخدمها الكمبيوتر مثل نظام الكمبيوتر‬
4- Hardware:
- Is the equipment that processes the data to create information. It is controlled by
software.‫ يتم التحكم فيها بواسطة البرنامج‬.‫ هي المعدات التي تعالج البيانات إلنشاء المعلومات‬:‫األجهزة‬
- Computers: are electronic devices that can follow instructions to accept input,
process it and produce information. ‫األجهزة اإللكترونية التي يمكن أن تتبع التعليمات لقبول المدخالت ومعالجتها وإنتاج المعلومات‬
• There are four types of computers: ‫هناك أربعة أنواع من أجهزة الكمبيوتر‬
1- Supercomputers. ‫الحواسيب العمالقة‬
2- Mainframe computers. ‫الحواسيب المركزي‬
3- Midrange computers. ‫الحواسيب المتوسطة‬
4- Personal computers. ‫الحواسيب الصغيرة‬
• Supercomputers: The most powerful type of computers, Special high-capacity
computers used by very large organizations.

• Mainframe computers: Specially wired, air-conditioned rooms.
• Midrange computers: Known as servers, used by medium-size companies or

• Personal Computers (PCs): The most widely used, fastest-growing type of

computers and the least powerful. ‫أكثر أنواع أجهزة الكمبيوتر استخدا ًما وأسرعها تطوراً وأقلها قوة‬
• There are 5 types of microcomputers:
1- Desktop 2- Laptops (notebook) 3- Tablets 4- Smartphones 5- Wearable’s

• Hardware for a PC system falls into four basic categories:

1- System unit. ‫وحدة النظام‬ 3- Secondary Storage. ‫التخزين الثانوي‬
2- Input/output. ‫اإلخراج‬/‫وحدات اإلدخال‬ 4- Communications. ‫االتصاالت‬
5- Data:
- Are raw, unprocessed facts including text, numbers, images and sounds.
