Altair PSIM Tutorial / How to Use the PSIM-HyperStudy Connector Link
Introduction:
A new connector link between PSIM and HyperStudy is created from v2024.1 to simulate and
study the PSIM schematics from the HyperStudy environment. The purpose of this feature is to
use the simulated output signals data in HyperStudy environment for design of the experiment
(DOE), optimization, and other post-processing of simulated data from PSIM.
Please note that connector link can be done with the HyperStudy v2024.0 onwards only.
Once the connection is done via “PSIM v2024.1 Utilities tool -> HyperStudy Setup”, one can use
the PSIM v2024.1 saved onward schematics files for the study in HyperStudy v2024.0 or
v2024.1.

One can open the HyperStudy to test the connector link successfully. Please follow the
following steps to test the connector link:
Step 1: Open the Altair HyperStudy. Click on File -> New Study.
Step 2: Save the “New Study” at your desired location in your system. The following window will
open with the option to “Add Model”.
Step 3: Click on the “Add Model”. This will pop up a dialog box to select PSIM. This will verify the
successful connector link, as shown below in the figure.

The following steps are shown for an existing example from the PSIM folder available here:
“\examples\Link to Altair Products\HyperStudy\llc_FIT".
This example goes through the steps on how one can run a LLC converter schematic (made
inside PSIM environment) from the HyperStudy environment.
Step 1: Open the Altair HyperStudy. Click on File ->Open Study. Navigate to “\examples\Link to
Altair Products\HyperStudy\llc_FIT” inside the PSIM folder.

Step 7: Click on “Run Definition” to write, execute, and extract the simulation output data.
After successful “Run Definition”, you will see the following window with green check box on
each column.
Step 8: Once the “Run Definition” is done, click Next. This will bring the next dialog for Output
definition -> Define Output Responses.

Once your output response is defined, then you can click on next for “Evaluation Tasks”. One
can see evaluation of data, plot, scatter under the Evaluation Tasks:
This will conclude the entire “Definition” setup for this llc_fit project. One can use the this
“Setup->Definition” for further Fit model study, design of experiment (DOE), parameter sweep
analysis, optimization, etc. Please refer to the attached link above of the tutorial and example
for further exploration inside HyperStudy environment.
