Discuss ways that you can improve an internet-based content system

management system’s performance in terms of latency, security, data
availability, and migration. Your response should list at least three
improvements for each of the performance aspects listed.
CMS is an important part of the development of the World Wide Web, with more
than a third of websites running on four major CMS platforms: WordPress,
Magento, Drupal and Joomla.
The popularity of CMS platforms is that all of them are easy to use and focus on
user experience, accessibility, and success in the markets.
But one of the main problems facing these CMS platforms is the threat to
cybersecurity.
There is no doubt that the Internet has become a great necessity and an
important requirement for the people of today as it helps them to find the
information they are looking for quickly.
Because of this requirement, there are over a billion websites on the web and this
number is growing exponentially every year.

Why is the CMS being targeted by cybercriminals?

CMS platforms are more vulnerable in nature as they are based on open source
frameworks and have common development environments, but on the other
hand they also have some drawbacks.
And since there is no licensing fee, no one is responsible for potential issues such
as security issues that may occur.
These vulnerabilities that threaten the content management system are
addressed by both security researchers and the hacker community.
Hackers with absolute access can do any kind of damage and deface the website.
This results in the site being blacklisted by Google and other major search
engines.

How to protect your CMS system?

Although hackers' methods have evolved, there are important tips that can help
you protect your CMS from security attacks:
1- Using a web application firewall
Users can choose WAF which automatically protects the site from CMS
vulnerabilities.
It is an enterprise-grade secure product that is available as a server or device
plug-in or even a cloud-based security system as a service model.
CMS platforms represent both internal and external information, so it is
important that you prevent and address any data loss.

2- Use plug-ins intentionally

The CMS has a variety of plug-ins available that give users the opportunity to use
features that are not in the original package.
These plugins make CMS platforms more vulnerable and allow hackers to find
more room for entry.
Therefore, it is very important to know your exact requirements and use only the
required plug-ins and prevent the use of unnecessary external plug-ins.
Paying close attention to the reviews and recommendations by the CMS
community and not downloading all the new plugins can save the site from
security attacks.

3- Risk assessment and treatment

Hackers will try to find out the vulnerabilities in your CMS, and the developers will
try to fix the patch as soon as possible.
A risk assessment helps security professionals identify accidents that can occur
and damage company assets.
Detailed reports help developers protect the CMS site from potential attacks.
Using tools such as: vulnerability scanners enables administrators to find the
weakest sides and then strengthen the security system. Which reduces the
damage caused by any breach.
It is important to take care of the regular backup of the site and its database.
Following CMS site security best practices helps control any cyber attacks on the
site that could lead to the loss of critical data.
Thus we find that effective site management combined with some best
cybersecurity practices keep your CMS site secure.
