I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course helps students become better presenters and writers. The lesson plans
provide teaching materials and activities that will guide the learners in the step-by-step
things to do effective presentation and writing. The course, in particular, will adapt the
presentation style in TED talks, TMT (a three-minute thesis), and Pecha Kutcha. The
writing will focus on argumentative writing using Monroe’s Sequence patterns. The
topics of presentation and writing will include the issues in Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) so that the students will not only learn English as a subject but also use
the language to talk about national issues and to have ideas about what happens in the
country and the world. In short, the goal of the course is for students to be able to
present and write more effectively.

II. COURSE PROGRESS

(Adjustable to the actual progress of the course)

by-step plans before performing it.

*Have students prepare their speech and writing on their

gadget to make it easy to show to the small groups and
the whole big class. Also, it will be more effective to
comment, give feedback, and revise for the final
presentation and writing.

2 Opening a presentation Using one of the SDGs topics the students have chosen, they
will:

1. Practice opening a presentation within small groups


2. Discuss what works well and what to improve
3. Practice opening their presentation in front of the class
(each group sends a representation to do it)
4. Review what students think about opening a presentation.
5. Introduction to how to present main points

Homework: Decide what main points the students want to


highlight in their topics.

3 Presenting the main 1. Discussion on the main points the students have
points prepared from home.
2. Practice presenting it within small groups
3. Group sharing
4. Practice presenting the main points in front of the
class (each group chooses one representation)

*Students are welcome to revise their main points for the


next presentation practice.

the class (each group selects one representation)
