I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course helps students become better presenters and writers. The lesson plans
provide teaching materials and activities that will guide the learners in the step-by-step
things to do effective presentation and writing. The course, in particular, will adapt the
presentation style in TED talks, TMT (a three-minute thesis), and Pecha Kutcha. The
writing will focus on argumentative writing using Monroe’s Sequence patterns. The
topics of presentation and writing will include the issues in Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) so that the students will not only learn English as a subject but also use
the language to talk about national issues and to have ideas about what happens in the
country and the world. In short, the goal of the course is for students to be able to
present and write more effectively.
