The school organized a 4 day trip for students of Class XIIth to Nainital - Bhimtal - Jim Corbett
from 17th to 21st May20xx, in collaboration with New Horizons Adventures Pvt Ltd, as part of
their Social Studies Project Work.
A group of 86 students and 7 teachers departed from the school premises on the evening of
17th May 20xx. After an overnight travel, students reached Bhimtal at 9 a.m. and lodged at
Maple Resorts nested among the hills and the lush green environment. During their two days
stay at Bhimtal the students had a rendezvous with the picturesque surroundings of the town
and went for sightseeing . On their return, bonfire and dinner, arranged at the hotel was
thoroughly enjoyed by the students. The second day was marked with adventure activities when
the students were taken to Padampuri for an adventure camp. In four groups, the students
performed activities like cliff jumping, flying fox, commando nets and rappelling. The adventure,
as a whole was enjoyed by the students .
Next day the group departed to Nainital where they were taken for boating at the Naini Lake
and were given time at leisure for shopping and visit the Naina Devi Temple. Later that evening
students were taken to Jim Corbett where a DJ party and dinner was organized for them. On
21st May, the students were taken for a Jeep safari early in the morning in the Corbett National
Park where they got the opportunity to explore wildlife. Later that afternoon the group departed
for Delhi.
The trip was a memorable one for all the twelfth class students. Despite all the controversies,
bickerings and the fights, this last trip was remarkable and will be a cherished memory for the
students and the teachers as well.

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION

Career Counselling Centre, Gurgaon organized a career counselling session for students and
parents of class XII on 18th September 2022 in the school auditorium. Career decisions play a
pivotal role to shape the future growth and development of students. Knowing about choices
available helps children in their decision-making process.
The session commenced with the school Principal, Ms. Aditi Misra reiterating the importance of
knowing one’s potential and subject of interest before making a decision. She also laid stress
on the right combination of subjects as per their aptitude which should be reflected in their
academic performance. The resource person for the session was Ms Kanika Marwaha, an
eminent career counsellor. She is a prolific educator who has been associated with counselling
and guidance for the past 32 years regarding decision making for the future.
Through interaction and discussion she made the young audience aware of the multiple career
options available. Later ,the resource person emphasised on the point that there are various
opportunities that are now being availed by science students other than Medical and
Engineering. Informative booklets were given which contained information about various
courses, the universities that offer those courses and the eligibility criteria .She urged the
students not to make decisions based on family expectations and peer pressure.
Towards the end a question hour was organized where the students’ queries were satisfactorily
answered by the resource person She guided the students to identify their interests and what
they are good at. She also advised them to plan multiple activities during their vacations to hone
their skills. The session was informative and enriching for students.
Elections of the office-bearers and class representatives of the Student's Council of our School
were held very peacefully on the 7th of September2022. Results were declared the same
afternoon.
Sh. Ram Singh of XII A (Commerce) was elected President. On 9th September, oath-taking
ceremony of the office bearers took place. The Deputy Commissioner of the district, Shri. Jyoti
Rana, I.A.S. presided over the ceremony and administered the oath. The function was held in
the school hall. A large number of students were present on the occasion. All the members of
the staff were also there. The function began with a short cultural programme which included a
choir and a folk dance.
Later, the Principal congratulated the students for peaceful elections. He also impressed upon
them the role of the Student's Union and the functions of the office bearers. The President elect
was the first to take oath. All other office bearers followed one by one. All of them pledged that
they would work for the welfare of student community and the school.
After administering the oath, the Deputy Commissioner advised the students and the student
leaders to realize their duties to themselves as well as to the nation. The function came to close
with the singing of the National Anthem.
QUESTIONS FOR PRACTICE
1. Your school athletic participated in the CBSE National Athletics Meet held at Hyderabad
from 1st-5th January, 20xx. Vishal Tokas, a Class XII student of our school won the silver

medal in the 100m sprint. The school relay race team (girls) also won a bronze. Write a
report for the school newsletter. Sign yourself as Nishit/Nupur Jain.
2. The Resident's Club of your colony celebrated Diwali by organizing a Diwali Mela where
stalls selling handicrafts and eatables and some games stalls were put up. A cultural
programme was also presented on the occasion. As the Secretary of the Club write an
account of the event in about 125-150 words to be published in the colony's newsletter.
3. The Kendriya Vidyalaya’s Silver-Jubilee celebration has just concluded. Write a brief report
to be published in your school magazine. You are Namit/ Namita..
4. An Inter-School Painting Competition was organized in your school as part of the Literacy
Week Celebrations. On the occasion students from various schools painted posters on the
themes of literacy and the importance of education. You are Gurukripa Knowlgi/Purnima
Seshadri, Head Boy/Head Girl of St Mary's School, New Delhi. Write a brief account of the
event for the school magazine.
