GUIDELINES
1. The Science Club officers and the science teachers will play Christmas songs early in the morning before
classes start.
2. Students may request their favorite Christmas songs to be played. They are also encouraged to sing and dance
along with the music.
3. Every request is for free and all students are encouraged to join and request a Christmas song to the Science
Club Officer in-charge of the day.
SCIENCE CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS
GUIDELINES
1. This activity will be participated by the Junior and Senior High School students of Pangal Sur High School.
2. Each section of every grade level should have ten (10) student representatives to represent their class
during the election. They can be elected as officers.
3. The election will follow the calling for nomination procedure of election.
4. Each nominated candidate will briefly introduce themselves for student voters’ reference.
5. Science teachers will facilitate during the election and they will be in-charge in counting the students who
voted for the nominated candidates for each position.
6. There should be one (1) President, one (1) Vice President, two (2) Secretaries, one (1) Treasurer, one (1)
auditor, two (2) Press Information Officers, two (2) Business Managers, and one (1) representative each
grade level should be elected.
7. Elected officers should be immediately proclaimed after the election.

POSTER MAKING CONTEST
Digital and Traditional
GUIDELINES
1. Science teachers will encourage all interested students from every section to make a poster which reflects the
theme of this year’s Science Month Celebration: “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa
Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan”
2. Students may choose between digital or traditional posters as long as each of them has an entry/output for this
activity.
3. Each Section must have a minimum of one (1) and maximum of three (3) official participants for each
category (digital poster and traditional poster) to compete for the schoolwide digital and traditional poster
making contest. If no volunteer student who will be competing in the said event the class adviser will choose
the participant/s from their section.
4. The participants should register their names, grade level and section in the registration form provided by the
event facilitators. Last day of registration will be on September 11, 2024 (Wednesday).
5. Only registered participants can join the Poster Making Contest on September 17, 2024 (Tuesday) at the 2nd
Floor of the Science Laboratory Building.
6. Each participant should submit one (1) entry only.
7. During the contest proper the participants would bring the
following: Traditional Poster Making Contest:
a. 1/8 illustration board
b. Coloring materials: oil pastel/craypas, markers, ink, mixed media, oil, acrylic and watercolor (to be
provided by the contestant)
Digital Poster Making Contest:
a. Participants can use any software or application.
b. They should have their own gadgets during the competition as gadgets will not be provided by the
facilitators.
c. The finished digital posters must be submitted in 8.5x13 inches (300 DPI) in size. The poster entries
must be submitted in JPEG/PNG/PSD format.
8. Every participant will only be given three (3) hours to accomplish their traditional and digital poster entry.
9. Participants will be excused on the day of the activity.
10. Participants are only allowed to make their poster during the given schedule.
11. The poster must be an original design.
12. There will be three (3) winners for both Traditional and Digital Poster Making Contest: 2nd Place, 1st Place and
Champion. The Science working committee will announce the top 3 entries on September 27, 2024 during the
culminating day of the Science Club Month Celebration.
13. Winners will receive Certificate of Recognition, medal, and a simple token from the science department.
14. Certificate of participation is also awarded for all the participants for the schoolwide search for best digital
and traditional poster.
15. Science teachers will give due points to the students who participated in the event and it will be reflected in
their performance ratings.

SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

GUIDELINES

WEEKLY SCIENCE TRIVIA
Fund Raising Activity
GUIDELINES
1. This activity is a fund-raising activity to generate funds for Science Department projects.
2. Science working committee will present one trivia question every week starting on September 02, 2024.
3. Trivia questions will be posted on stage of the school amphitheater.
4. All students are open to answer the trivia. Every answer will be written on a given stub/ticket including the
name of the student, grade level and section.
5. Only one (1) answer is accepted in each entry.
6. Each answer stub/ticket costs one peso (1.00) and it can be avail from the science club officers.
7. Stub with answer will be inserted into a box designated for the trivia question of the week.
8. Students may opt to submit as many entries/answers for the trivia and they can make their entries every day.
(The more entries the more chances of winning).
9. All entries will be drawn on September 27, 2024, during the Science Club Month culminating day.
10. If in case the drawn entry fails to provide the correct answer for the week’s trivia or the answer is misspelled,
another entry will be drawn until an entry with correct answer and spelling will be drawn.
11. Student’s name in the lucky entry will receive a prize.
iBILIB EXPERIMENT
A Science Experiment Competition
GUIDELINES
1. This competition is open to all students from Grade 7 to 12.
2. The experiment entry should consist of 5-10 student.
3. The participant must design an experiment proving or applying a scientific concept, theory or law in a
cheerful, lively and creative manner through a face to face in their classroom.
4. The participant can explain the topic/concept in English or Filipino.
5. All experiment must be original and are owned by the participant/s. The contestant will be held accountable to
any issues that may arise with regard to the originality and accuracy of the content.
6. Entries must be conducted during science class on September 20, 2024.
7. Entries submitted do not represent DEPED, the school, and the Science Department Technical Working Group
8. There will be three (3) winners for iBILIB Experiment Competition: 2 nd Place, 1st Place and Champion. The
Science working committee will announce the top 3 entries on September 27, 2024 during the culminating day
of the Science Club Month Celebration.

AGHAMAZING QUIZ
Science Quiz Bowl
GUIDELINES
1. This science quiz bowl will be a team competition. It is open to all students from grade 7 – 12 and each
section will have five (5) representatives.
2. Participants should register in the registration form provided by the event facilitator.
3. Only the registered participants can join the quiz bowl on the morning of September 26, 2024.
4. Participants will be grouped into ten (10) and each group should be composed of six (6) students; one (1)
student per grade level (Grade 7 to Grade 12). Reshuffling of groupings will be made on the date of the quiz.
5. The Contest will be divided into three (3) rounds: the EASY, AVERAGE and DIFFICULT round.
6. The questions for the entire contest will cover the field of sciences, namely; (a) Earth Science, (b) Biology, (c)
Chemistry, (d) Astronomy, and (e) Physics. These questions may be conceptual and/or computational type
questions.
7. No calculators, conversion tables, and the like will be allowed during the competition.
8. Clarifications regarding the rules of the competition shall be entertained by the committee before the start of
the contest.
9. The group will write their answers on a small white board.
10. The questions will be read twice. Afterwards, the quiz master will say “GO”, only then the participants will
start writing their answer on the white board and, at the same time, the start of the countdown timer.
11. After the time-limit, the whistle is blown by the time-keeper. The groups must stop writing and must raise
their answer boards. When the quiz master says, “TIME’S UP”, all participants should raise their markers, and
show their final answers after the time allotted for the specific question.
12. The Quizmaster shall read and verify the groups’ answer.
13. The EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT round consist of twenty-five (25) questions. Easy – 10 questions,
Average – 10 questions, Difficult – 5 questions.
14. The Easy and Average Round questions will have four (4) options. For the difficult round, no option will be
given to the participating teams.
15. Each question shall be given a predetermined number of points corresponding to its round. Easy – 1 point,
Average – 2 points, Difficult – 3 points.
16. The groups who get the first three highest numbers of points are automatically declared the champion or the
runner-ups as the case may be.
17. All the participants will be given a certificate and additional grade in their science subject.
18. The top 3 winners will receive a certificate of recognition and gift prizes which will be announced in the
afternoon of September 30, 2023.

School-based Singing and Dancing Competition
GUIDELINES
1. There must be at least 15 participants from each section who can sing and dance.
2. The participants should register in the registration form provided by the Science Club officers/
facilitator of the contest.
3. The participants will create their own/original lyrics that is related to the theme and may base the tune
from any songs.
4. The participant/s is/are only given a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) minutes for
their performance.
5. Performing beyond the allotted time will result in a one (1) point deduction every minute.
6. Accompaniments should only be in minus one. The music should be given to the sound operator on or
before September 27, 2024.
7. Appropriate and decent attire must be worn.
8. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
