Literacy 9:00am - 10:35am


Lesson / Instruction
* Thank you for coming in :)

* You have duty from 10:40-10:55 ( First Floor- Indoor snack time; between my classes and the classes to the right (
Grade 1 and grade 1/2 class)

** All you need is blank paper today. Can you get 22 -22 blank paper from the photocopying machine room ( to your
right). Thank you.

* Fire Drill Folder is by the outlet under the whiteboard

* Please use our incentive system if you like. I give students loonies if the learners are following routines, showing
kindness or anything AMAZING! Harrison and Aiden benefit from the incentive system and positive reinforcement. The
loonies are on my desk ( in a mini drawer). Purchases can be made once I return on Wednesday :)

* * Aiden and Harrison have their personal behavior chart that focuses on the same goals. They will each try to collect 4
stars in order to get 10 minutes of craft time ( they can use GOOS paper to create something quietly).

* Aiden uses a green squiggle seat when sitting on the floor (it helps him) ; he knows where it is located

* Harrison also uses a squiggle seat (black)

* Logan require frequent check ins to ensure he understands what to do and to have him stay focused on the task

* Please check in with Elly as well to clarify her understanding and to support her as needed

* We have a total of 20 learners in our class.

1. Leaners will line up in the hallway once they get their WATER BOTTLE and AGENDA from their backpack.

2. Please have the learners enter the classroom. They will place their water bottles in the water bottle bin, unstack the
chairs and begin writing their homework in their agenda.

3. Please project homework onto the smartboard by opening a google doc and recording the date and homework or you
may share the one I sent you to your gapps account:

-Read for 20 minutes

* Please make sure Logan and Aiden are working on their agenda as they may require prompting

4. Please go around and check their agendas and place a checkmark once they have written their homework in the
correct date.

5.Please ensure Logan and Aiden write the homework in their agenda. Logan may need reminders to take out his
agenda out of his bag and encouragement to keep writing. Aiden may need encouragement as well.

6. Once you place a checkmark, they may place their agenda in their desk.

7.Then, they will work on the gratitude journal. This should all be completed around 9:15

7a. Independent Reading - Should be silent ( 20 minutes or so)


-Wednesday friends can check out books today

8. Watch the following Remembrance Day Video by youtubing the following:

9. Please put on 2 go noodle movement videos on youtube for them to move around to.

10. Tell them that today they will create a Remembrance Day Art Piece that we will display in our
classroom.

11. Have them meet you at their desk. Have the paper passers hand out blank paper to each
student.

12. Put on the following video (youtube this):

13. Please pause throughout the video as they follow the video. Please tell them that it doesn't have
to be exactly the same. Flowers are organic and they naturally look different

14. They can use pencil first to follow along. Then, they may use sharpies to outline it ( should be on
my desk or to the cupboards to the right to my desk ( in a box).

-teach them how to log in

-provide each student with their log in and password ( located on my desk; they can keep it in a safe spot in their desk)
-Since they are sharing the computer, they can take turns typing

-It has words and pictures
-Please have them cut out each word and picture and INTIAL it ( First and Last Name) behind each cut out. Once they
are done cutting out, they can independently sort the words ( on their desk)
-While they are cutting out, have the passers hand out the WORD STUDY NOTEBOOK ( located on my desk)
-Then, they will place their cut outs into the envelope
