2. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following question:
1. What words did you find?
2. What do you think will be our topic for today?

3. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the topic based on the following guide questions
a. What is Health Related Fitness and its importance?
Health-related fitness (HRF) is theoretically defined as a
multidimensional construct containing the components cardiorespiratory
endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body
composition. Health-related physical fitness is primarily associated with disease
prevention and functional health. Participating in regular health-related fitness
helps you control your weight, prevents diseases and illness, improves your
mood, boosts energy, and promotes better sleep.

b. How to plan a Health Fitness Plan?

Your health Related Fitness must be simple, enjoyable and suitable to the
needs of you and your family to attain maximum level of physical witness. In line
with this, you should plan your fitness activity using these:
FITT- Frequency, Intensity, Type, Time
 Frequency- it is how often you do the exercise training.
 Intensity- is the progression of the work and exercise done. You should
do your training exercise from moderate to vigorous to avoid injuries.
 Type- the specific kind of work done like walking, running and jogging.
 Time- refers to your target duration of doing your fitness exercise.

SMARTER- Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time bound,

Exciting, Recorded
 Specific- Have a definite or direct goal
 Measurable- the goal must be measurable to gauge your self
 Attainable- the goal must be stimulating, neither too comfortable nor too
difficult
 Realistic- see to it that your goals can be done
 Time Bound- the goal must be achieved within a given time
 Exciting- goals should be motivational and encouraging
 Recorded- goals are to be recorded to assess yourself properly
c. What is Volleyball?
Volleyball is a sport played by two teams on a playing court divided by a
net. The objective of the game is to send the ball over the net in order to ground
it on the opponent’s court and to prevent the same effort by the opponent. The
team has a three hits for returning the ball. The ball is put in a play with a
service: hit by the server over the net to the opponents. The rally continues until
the ball is grounded on the playing court, goes “out” or a team fails to return it
properly.

d. The basic skills in volleyball

Passing- Simply getting the ball to someone else on your team after it’s been
served or hit over the net by the opposing team. It’s commonly thought of as the
most important skill in all volleyball, because your team can’t return the ball
without a solid volleyball pass. Forearm volleyball passes are often used to
direct the ball in controlled manner to a teammate, but overhead passing is
another option.

Setting- The setter has the most important position on the team and is often the
team leader for this reason. It’s their job to make it easy for a teammate to get
the ball over the volleyball net, preferably with a spike that the other team can’t
return. The setting motion gets the ball hanging in the air, ready to be spiked by
another teammate with force.

Spiking- Is the act of slamming the ball in a downward motion across the
volleyball net to the other team’s side of the court. When done well, spiking is
very difficult to return which is why it’s an essential skill. A proper spike will
help accumulate points quickly.

Blocking- Blocking is the most expendable of the fundamentals. Still, it adds a

great dimensions to the game, keeping the other team on their toes, so to speak.
By timing it right, you can jump up and deflect or block the opponents attack
before it even crosses the volleyball net, which can take them by surprise and
give the team an easy point.

Digging- A defensive maneuver in volleyball that can save your team from an
offensive spike or attack. Your job is to keep the ball from hitting the floor and
you do that by diving and passing the ball in a fluid motion. Unlike a typical pass,
you’ll probably be trying to recover the ball from a steep downward trajectory.

Serving- The final fundamental skill is serving. It is a skill that every player must
master as it’s the first move that can give your team momentum and shut down
your opponent’s momentum

e. The five most important fitness goals

 Commit to your plan in the long run

Fitness should be a lifetime commitment with ever changing
goals and expectations and it should help you live longer,
healthier life.
 Healthy Nutrition Plan
Picking out an effective nutrition plan depends on what your
fitness/health goals are, but the general idea of getting more
fruits and vegetables in your diet along with plenty of protein
and complex carbohydrates is something most people will agree
on.

 Always have your vital statistics monitored

This is in reference to your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood
sugar and resting heat rate. A lot of guys don’t keep these on a
very consistent basis. However, these vital statistics become
especially important as you get older, and it’s in your best
interest to make sure your numbers are good now, so nothing
sneaks up on your day.
 Strengthen your immune system
In a lot of ways, this one could be a goal that flanks a lot of your
other goal. Part of the reason you work out is to feel better, so
naturally, exercise can work to improve your body’s resistance to
a number of disease.

 Make your fitness goals specific, attainable and time bounded

When setting fitness goals in the short term, make sure they are
not too ambitious, while having a set timetable along with
achievable numbers.

Generalization:
a. What is volleyball and its basic skills?
b. How important to understand and engage to health related fitness?

The teacher will encourage and motivate students to answer or give their ideas
about the question that was being asked. The teacher will validate the students
answer and ideas.

4. Application
The teacher will group the students into two and every group should have six (6)
members to execute and explain the skills (Passing, Setting, Spiking, Blocking,
digging and serving). The teacher will give 5 minutes for students to prepare and
will be graded based on the rubrics.
