STUDY PLAN
I am thrilled to have accepted an offer to study in Canada, and I am excited to share my reasons
for choosing this program. Firstly, I am drawn to the academic reputation of Brock University,
which is renowned for its B.A Social Sciences. The program's curriculum, research
opportunities, and faculty expertise align with my academic and professional goals, making it an
ideal choice for me.
What your overall educational goal.
As a social science student, my overall educational goal is to develop a comprehensive
understanding of the social and human sciences, and to apply this knowledge to address complex
social issues and problems. I want to develop a deep understanding of the theoretical
frameworks, methodologies, and empirical findings in the social sciences, including sociology,
psychology, anthropology, and politics. I aim to cultivate critical thinking and analytical skills
through the study of social sciences, enabling me to evaluate complex data, identify patterns and
relationships, and draw informed conclusions.
Why I am not pursuing a similar program in my country of residence:
I am drawn to the reputation or Brock University and its program in B.A Social Sciences. The
university's strong research focus, international faculty, and diverse student body align with my
academic and professional goals. In contrast, similar programs in my home country may not
offer the same level of academic rigor and international exposure.
How Social Science will Enhance Employment Opportunities. As a Social Science student, I
will develop strong research skills, which will be valuable in various industries and sectors. I will
be able to conduct thorough research, analyze data, and draw informed conclusions, making me a
valuable asset to organizations.
Research done in my country of residence. Research was done about malnutrition among
children under five years at Asamang in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. This was embarked to
identify children with nutritional deficiencies and children who were at risk of malnutrition.
Ties to my Country of Residence. As a Ghanaian citizen, I am excited about the opportunity to
study abroad and experience a new culture, I also want to emphasize that I have a close-knit
family and a network of friends who are all based in Ghana. I am active in my local community
and have a strong sense of social responsibility. I plan to continue being involved in community
projects and initiatives that benefit my home country.
Reasons for Studying in Canada as a minor. Canada offers a range of support services for
international students, including language training, academic advising, and mental health
support. I appreciate the recognition that these services provide for the challenges that
international students may face. Canada is considered one of the safest countries in the world,
and I am grateful for the sense of security that this provides. As a minor, I appreciate the peace
of mind that comes with knowing that I will be living in a safe environment. As a Ghanaian
citizen, I am currently living in Ghana with Mr. Samuel Tetteh and Mrs. Mercy Appiah who is a
Ghanaian citizen. My parent has a valid working permit in Ghana, which allows them to work
and live in the country legally.
