Scenario 2: Asking for Directions


You are lost in a foreign city and need to ask a local for directions to
a nearby landmark. How would you politely ask for directions using
modal verbs in your cultural context?

Scenario 3: Borrowing a Book


You want to borrow a book from your friend, but you are unsure if
they will lend it to you. How would you ask for the book politely
using modal verbs in your cultural context?
Scenario 4: Making Plans
You want to make plans with your classmates for a group project, but
you are uncertain if everyone is available on the same day. How
would you suggest a meeting time using modal verbs in your cultural
context?

Scenario 5: Apologizing
You accidentally bumped into someone on the street and want to
apologize sincerely. How would you apologize using modal verbs in
your cultural context?

Each group can then discuss how they would respond to the
scenarios based on their cultural background and perspectives. They
can role-play the scenarios within their groups and share their
insights with the class during the discussion session.
