ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON THE CONDUCT SELG ELECTIONS
June 9, 2023
I. INTRODUCTION
“The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the
greatness is there already.” John Buchan
Supreme Elementary Learner Government whose purpose is to train the pupils to become
better citizens in the future and to develop pupils’ skills and abilities in achieving quality education and
academic excellence through cooperative works among themselves in achieving their goals.
II. RATIONALE
Leadership is an integral part of education. Its significance traverses every part of the
development that is necessary to develop leadership values and skills to our learners.
The Department of Education (DepEd) acknowledges the important role that leadership plays
in the Education System. As such, the Supreme Elementary Learner Government has been
established to train future leaders and to exercise democracy.
III. OBJECTIVES
● To become a better citizens in the future
● To develop pupils skills and abilities in achieving quality education and academic
excellence through cooperative works among themselves in achieving their goals
IV. METHODOLOGY
The SELG election started with the screening of the possible candidates from Grade 2-5
pupils to run for a certain position. Filing of Election Application forms were accomplished and
submitted by the learners who qualified in the screening on June 1, 2023. The SELG commissioner
on screening and validation evaluated the Election Application Forms of the candidates vis-à-vis the
Qualification and Disqualification. The qualified candidates to run for different positions formed two
Party Lists the “Partidong Makabansa” and “Partidong Makakalikasan”. The Official List of Candidates
were announced on June 6. The campaign period was on June 7-8. It was done in person wherein
each party list made different campaign strategies. The candidates for the 2023 election showed
strong intention to lead by making their campaign stronger than expected. The election took place in
the school stage and designated classrooms on June 9. The Proclamation of Winners were
announced on June 13 followed by the Oath taking ceremony headed by the school principal Dr.
Marife D. Frane.
V. RESULT
Out of 510 learners who voted in the SELG election. Here are the corresponding votes
earned by the elected candidates.

VI. FINDINGS
After the election, votes were counted, checked, reviewed and verified by the commissioners
on the election committee which comprises the Chief Commissioner, Commissioner on Screening and
Validation and Commissioner on Electoral board. Then the proclamation of winners followed.
VII. CONCLUSION
So far SELG manual election was successfully conducted wherein pupils were given the
chance to participate and exercise their right of suffrage during the election.
VIII. RECOMMENDATIONS
Encourage other pupils not to hesitate in joining the different organizations to exercise their
knowledge and ability to become a future leader.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF SELG ELECTIONS
S.Y 2023 – 2024

development. There is almost no limit to the potential of an organization that recruits good
people, raises them up as leaders and continually develops them”. John C. Maxwell
As DepEd promotes student leadership, it is imperative for schools to facilitate student
government elections and other relevant practices that will meaningfully support learner development
and respond to varied contexts at this time of pandemic.
In response to DepEd’s advocacy about student – leadership, Malitam Elementary School
continuously facilitated SELG elections to train pupils to become better followers and leaders in the
future.
In observance of the SELG election, it followed these indicative schedules:

The activities for the SELG Election of Officers took place on May 31 – June 13, 2023. There
were 28 candidates from Grade 2 – 5 Homeroom Class Organization who were qualified to run for a
certain position based on the conducted screening. The activities for the SELG election were all done
in person.
The announcement of SELG Election and Schedule of Activities was held last May 31, 2023 at
10:30 in the morning by SELG adviser.
The 28 learners who qualified in the screening were submitted their complete Election
Application forms to the election commissioners and evaluated by the assigned commissioner on
screening and validation. The commissioner on screening and validation conducted the
announcement of the final List of Candidates on June 6. They formed two Party Lists, the “Partidong
Makabansa” and “Partidong Makakalikasan”.
The Campaign period was scheduled on June 7-8, 2023. They made their campaign significant
through showing their creativity in delivering their platforms inside the classroom of all Grade 2–5
levels.
The election took place last June 9, 2023.It took about an hour to finish. The voters voted
through a ballot form created by the Commissioner on the Election Committee. It was also the day
when the Commissioner on the Electoral Board validated the official results and came up with an
official list of school’s newly – elected SELG officers for the School Year 2023 – 2024.
Finally last June 13, 2023, the newly elected Supreme Elementary Learner Government officers
were formally announced and took an Oath of Office headed by the school principal Dr. Marife D.
Frane.
