Answer the following questions briefly.
1. How do the different types of letters differ from one another?
The different types of letters differ from one another in terms of their purpose, style, nature and
content. Good-news business letters convey positive information, such as promotions or
commendations, and have a light and pleasant tone. Bad-news business letters, on the other
hand, deliver negative information, like job rejections or terminations, and require a sensitive
approach. Routine letters are generally neutral and serve to provide information or make
inquiries without significantly impacting the reader's emotions. Other types of business letters
mentioned in the discussion include application letters (used when applying for a job), letters of
inquiry (requesting information or assistance), letters of response (providing answers to
inquiries), letters of request (asking for something), and letters of order (used for purchasing
items).
2. Which among the three types of resume will you use after you graduate? Why?
As a future English teacher majoring in English, the most suitable type of resume that I will use
after I graduate would likely be a combination resume format. This resume allows me to
highlight my relevant skills and qualifications at the beginning, showcasing my expertise in
English and education. As a fresh graduate, I may not have extensive work experience in the
field yet, but I can still emphasize my academic achievements, internships, student teaching
experiences, and any relevant extracurricular activities. Including a complete job history may
not be as critical for a new graduate, as the focus would be on demonstrating the relevant skills
and knowledge acquired during the education program.
