ENGRAVING

Engraving was a historically important method of producing images on


paper in artistic printmaking, in mapmaking, and also for commercial
reproductions and illustrations for books and magazines.
SCULPTURE

A sculpture is defined as a three-dimensional form made from a material such as


clay, wax, plaster, stone, polyester, fiberglass, metal, or plastic. It is often used to
decorate public spaces that are usually very large. The sculpture is also sometimes
used to express feelings, to tell a story, to teach, or to scare.
RELIEF

Some sculptors carve materials like stone or wood. Those who carve works
might make relief carvings. A relief carving is a sculpture with figures that
protrude from a background while still being attached to it. Relief carvings
create an illusion of space and depth on a shallow surface.
MOSAIC

Mosaics are used to decorate subways, restrooms, restaurants, and parks.


Artists use a variety of materials to create mosaic art, including glass,
beads, shells, stones, pebbles, tiles, mirrors, and even parts of old jewelry,
photographs, and toys.
Glodsmith

Goldsmiths design and make gold jewellery, including jewellery with


precious and semi-precious stones. This may involve cutting, filing,
hammering, turning, spinning, bending and casting gold or other metals.
They may use different methods to secure stones and engrave jewellery.
Glasswork

The first uses of glass were in beads and other small pieces of jewelry and decoration.
Beads and jewelry are still among the most common uses of glass in art and can be
worked without a furnace. It later became fashionable to wear functional jewelry with
glass elements, such as pocket watches and monocles.
Architecture

Architecture, the art and technique of designing and building, as


distinguished from the skills associated with construction. The
practice of architecture is employed to fulfill both practical and
expressive requirements, and thus it serves both utilitarian and
aesthetic ends
Urbanism

Urbanism is the study of how inhabitants of urban areas, such as towns and
cities, interact with the built environment. It is a direct component of disciplines
such as urban planning, a profession focusing on the design and management of
urban areas, and urban sociology, an academic field which studies urban life.
Landscape

The term landscape function is used in analogy with the


concept of ecosystem functions: it indicates the capacity of the
landscape to provide goods and services to society
Comic

Comics is a medium used to express ideas with images, often combined with text or other visual
information. It typically takes the form of a sequence of panels of images. Textual devices such as
speech balloons, captions, and onomatopoeia can indicate dialogue, narration, sound effects, or
other information.
Photography

Photographs are used to tell stories in many different ways.


Sciences use photography to document new plants or to be
able to study animals in more depth. Photos are used in text
books to teach students about different places around the
world. Family portraits hang on walls of almost every home.
Animated cartoons

The biggest use for animation is for entertainment. Animation is


used on the TV, on your phones, and all over the internet. In
television, animation is mostly used to occupy children, as is gives
them something to laugh about and keep them entertained for
long periods of time.
Cinema

Cinema, which is used to educate people, as well as to entertain, influence


and direct them, is accepted and used as the most important cultural
conveyor of the 21st century. Cinema has the feature of reflecting the social,
political and cultural changes and of contributing to reconstruction of reality.
Video

Video is an electronic medium for the


recording, copying, playback,
broadcasting, and display of moving
visual media.
Televisión

Television is a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are
reproduced on screens, chiefly used to broadcast programs for
entertainment, information, and education.
Infographic

An effective infographic delivers data and analysis in a way that helps your audience digest and
understand information easily in a visually pleasing format. “It (infographic) keeps people's
interest by lending a storytelling and visual element to what can be sterile research.”

Artistic Behaviors are how anyone can develop skills that are required of any
working artist. You might not be aware that you are behaving or thinking like an
artist but if you reflect on your process you can see how you are actually learning
to become an artist.
Design

A design function is what a design does. This is defined in the functional requirements
for a design. Function is an important driver of design as captured by design mantras
such as form follows function. Delivering a design that doesn't achieve function well is a
primary type of design failure.
Graphic design

Graphic Designers create visual concepts to communicate information. They create


everything from posters and billboards to packaging, logos and marketing materials.
Graphic Designers use elements such as shapes, colors, typography, images and
more to convey ideas to an audience.
Typographic

Typography is the art of arranging letters and text in a way that makes the copy
legible, clear, and visually appealing to the reader. Typography involves font style,
appearance, and structure, which aims to elicit certain emotions and convey specific
messages. In short, typography is what brings the text to life.
Layout

The layout functions are used to handle bidirectional languages


correctly, to transform text from a format readable for the user
to a format suitable for processing, and vice-versa.

The main function of a poster is to capture a moving audience with a


message. When designing a poster, plan its design carefully. You will
have a short amount of time to attract and hold your readers
attention. Think about the one aspect of the information that must
convey the message and plan your design around that.
Ilustration

Basically, illustration is a visual interpretation of a particular concept, text or process. It's


an image that aims at supporting, clarifying or even extending the ideas that people get
from the other source of information, most often given in the form of the text.
