You works for a structural steel fabricator. A simple pipe rack project is assigned to you, and the
structural drawings are issued to you.
General Notes of the project:
1. All dimensions are in mm. All elevations are in metres.
2. Grade of steel is S275.
3. All welds are 6mm continuous fillet, unless noted otherwise.
4. Bolt is of 8.8 grade.

1. Create a new Tekla Structures model Marks
Create a new Tekla Structures model using South-East Asia environment -
Save the model as TS_Model_[Your Name] -
2. Setting the project information Marks
Set the following project properties -

3. Setting the grid line Marks
Set grid lines according to the structural drawings 1
Make sure that the grid line is set to the actual floor level 2
4. Inserting the reference models Marks
Insert the following structural drawings into your model as reference objects: -
- Plan_100_000m.dwg 1
- Plan_106_250m.dwg 1
- Section 1-1.dwg 2
Make sure that the references are inserted at the correct position and level 1
5. Modeling and detailing of columns Marks
Add columns into your model, according to the structural drawings 2
Add connection details to column base according to information given below: 5

6. Modeling and detailing of main beams Marks
Insert main beam UB254*102*28 according to the structural drawings. 2
Add connection details between column and the beam according to information given below: 5

9. Creating floor plan Marks
Create a new General Arrangement drawing 2
Change the drawing layout to use the following settings: -

Drawing size: 410*287 1

Add drawing content similar to the drawing shown below: -

Add the following floor plan views into your GA drawing: -
Floor Plan at 100.000m, with scale 1:100 2
Elevation Plan at Grid Line S3, with scale 1:100 2
Add two detail views into your GA drawings: -

Add view label to each of the floor plan view, as shown below: -

10. Creating assembly drawing for column Marks
Create a assembly drawing for one of the column 2
Change the drawing layout to use the following settings: -
Drawing layout: Assembly 1
Drawing size: 560*410 1
Table layout: A2 1
Add drawing content similar to the drawing shown below: -
Change the drawing setting so that column is drawn vertically 2
Change the drawing layout so that it appears as below: -
Table “Drg_Title_A2” is positioned at the right bottom 1

Change the drawing setting so that position of secondary parts is 2

Modify the drawing setting so that bottom and top level of column 2

10. Create a multi drawing for single parts Marks
Create one multi-drawing to include single part views for all plates in the model 3
Change the drawing layout to use the following settings: -
Drawing layout: Multi 1
Drawing size: 560*410 1
Table layout: A2 1
Set the drawing layout so that it appears as below: -

Table “Drg Title A2” is located at bottom right corner of drawing 1
Table “Multi Assembly Part List” is set on top of table “Drg Title A2” 1
Change the font setting for bolt mark, part mark and dimension text of the multi-drawing view -
as below:

Change the drawing settings so that there is only one single part view for each plate. 3
